Nike absolutely are paying money early and most likely paying less because of it.

Aye Nike are just daft and dont factor in 'interest' from their side.

Not at all. According to your logic that couldn't be the case because club wouldn't do such thing that detriments them. Your Frenkie logic.

That's exactly what I've said. You are the one who initially disagreed with that.

They are 100 percent paying less. They are not stupid enough to pay up 150m Euros years early for no reason.

How much they are saving would be interesting to know. I suspect as much around 5 percent. So, possibly as much as 7.5 million.

It does.. hence the poor logic.

'TIME VALUE OF MONEY' then have to apply that to Nikes side also and they pay less the more they pay upfront.

Also clubs are in constant cycles of 2/3 years FFP.

It would be negligent for them to ask for too much up front and not have that constant base level for FFP across next 10 years.

Ask for more up front and get less.. and risk impacting FFP in later years.

It is not some magical idea that clubs in stronger negotiating power than Barca just dont realise..

Nah. You said they wouldn't do something to hurt the club in Frenkie's case but now claim they are doing it in Nike deal.

They wouldnt do it as it is a terrible idea and weakens them.

Taking more money upfront now doesnt fit that logic as wont be here for 10 years and got themselves in a hole.

Nah.

MD (crappy source) writes about the contract with Nike:

10 years

115 signing bonus

90 million euros per year + bonuses (I don’t know how much)

115 + 10 * 90 = 1.15 billion.

Bonus variables omitted.

==============================================================

Real Madrid had their last extension with Adidas in the summer of 19 (5! years ago):

10 years

120 million euros per year + bonuses (they wrote about 30 million euros)

120 * 10 = 1.20 billion

Bonus variables omitted.

=============================================================

Our contract, even taking into account inflation, does not reach Real's contract, according to MD...

Aye what the top clubs should do is negotiate a deal.. lets say 100m per year for 10 years.

Then when Nike/Adidas agree to it they should say to them.. infact we want that as 500m up front and 50m a season.

Those manfacturers would simply agree and the clubs skip back to office talking about TIME VALUE OF MONEY'.

Real world scenarios this and great for FFP!

Real world.. the manufacturers will pay less for paying that much up front and football clubs are not 'normal' business they are subject to 2/3 cyles of FFP where for the future of club income is better placed to be spread evenly.

There is a reason the top clubs with better bargaining postitions are not doing deals like this..

Wammy, word of advice. If you step in dogshit, it is best to throw away the shoe, rather than spending hours trying to clean it. Because the stain and stench ain't going away.

Unfortunately, by saying money upfront isn't better than spreading it ( if no extra cost is involved ) you have not just hypothetically stepped in the dog poo, you have Olympic dived, butt naked, into an open sewer. :rofl1:

Madrid had more leverage than us, when negotiating.

Everyone knows we are kinda in need of cash.

Fake news and for reasons given.

Get less and not suited for club in cycles of FFP.

You should write to all these top clubs saying you know better way.
