@M3ls
No, it's not normal at all.
Let's take only Laporta signings.
-
Memphis was earning 5m gross at Lyon, and Laporta gave him a 10m gross contract.
DOUBLE!
-
Kessie was earning 4m Gross at Milan, and Laporta offered him a contract of 9m Gross.
Thats a doubling!
-
Christensen was earning 4.8m Gross at Chelsea (a club that notoriously overpays), and Laporta gave him a 9m gross contract.
That's almost a doubling again!
And let's go to more crazy stuff:
-
Raphina was getting 3.8m Gross at Leeds, and Laporta TRIPLED (!) his waged to 12.5 gross
-
Eric Garcia was getting 750k at City, and Laporta gave him a 6m Gross contract.
400% increase!
-
Kounde was getting 1m gross at Sevilla, and Laporta gave him a 13.5 m gross contract.
Like 13xtimes his money!
You think that's normal in any case whatsoever?
I get that these people are going to a bigger club and expecting a pay rise, or that some of them (not all) like Kounde, have reached the next level in their development and want that to be reflected in a contract.
But a sane club would not double by default their earning, let alone handing 9 or 13m more gross !
Take also into account that most of these would pick Barca before most other clubs
Given these numbers, a sane club would give:
Kessie, Raphina, and Christensen max around 6m gross.
Depay no more than 7m gross,
Kounde no more than 4-5m gross,
and Eric no more than 2m gross
Look at how a financially sane club's wage structure
looks like
Fatporta is following Bartomeu's wage disasterclass step by step!
Either he is simply an idiot who thinks Barca should be paying above the market for no reason,
or there is certainly something shady going on as
