This deal could make sense if the purpose is replacing Ferran with Chiesa otherwise ,in our current financial situation, I don't get it.

It’s one thing to play for Barca who dominate in 95% of games and another to play for Juve’s defensive terrorist Allegri setup with 5 atb and no wingers. It’s a no brainer that Chiesa’s stats would improve if he plays for an attacking club.
Good point. Maybe we should take him and try. The risk is not that high either way.

Dunno why people laughing when he is legit 3x better than Ferran. If we get him and sell Ferran it’s a win win

Rumours in Italy are that Juve found out he had agreed a contract with Inter who told him to sit tight and will bid 10m at end of window.

This was before Barca links.

IF this is true and reports about Juve prefer to sell him to Barca than another Serie A club is true then we shouldn't bid anything more than 5m and see if they accept.

Also, FFS don't give him more than 6m gross. And nothing more than a 3 year contract (2+1 would be even better).

But knowing how we work we'll probably offer 15m and give him 12m gross for 5 years and then be loaning him out paying 75% of his wages within a year.

I know it is video, but he is 3x times better player then Ferret.

He is much faster and actually able to dribble someone.

He will definitely be an upgrade over Ferran Torres.

Thats said, most mid table teams have better wingers than Ferran Torres.

Chiesa wont set the world on fire but he will be an upgrade on what we currently have.

A top club with a good sporting plan would have identified Nico Williams and would have made that happen early in the summer.

But Barca under Laporta are a joke and the sporting side of things is a complete disaster.

2026 can’t come soon enough

Right, and it would be useful if you could read the record, instead of looking just at how many lines are there

As I said in another thread it is not as bad as people make it out to be.
Always had brief injuries (days to week, max 2 weeks), apart from the big cruciate ligament one that kept him out from Jan. to Nov. 2022
Yet, this was a KNEE not a muscle injury. Van Dijk had similar injury and lost a whole season from Oct to summer (20/21), but never had injuries either before or after.

Injury prone players, on the other hand, have MUSCLE injuries every few months that keep them out for a few months. Look at Olmo's record, or Pedri's, or Dembele's before 2020 and you get a good sense of what an injury prone player is.

40something days out IN TOTAL for 23/24, and as many for 22/23 (made up of 5 days here 5 days there), all after the big injury is NOT the record of an injury prone player

Never thought I would say that, but Ferran is the better player.

Can't believe Dafuck I am reading in here.
No need to seriously answer that

Ik stats sometimes can be deceiving but I'll just leave this here...
Torres on the ball looks like a donkey. Chiesa is at least somewhat composed. He will probably be similar to Raphinha level but likely less effective from a goal/assist standpoint.

He can dribble past his man and score with curlers from the edge.
That already makes him better than Raphina AS A WINGER.

It’s one thing to play for Barca who dominate in 95% of games and another to play for Juve’s defensive terrorist Allegri setup with 5 atb and no wingers. It’s a no brainer that Chiesa’s stats would improve if he plays for an attacking club.

No shit! Football sense in not allowed here.
Only knee-jerk reactions

If Juventus won't sell for less than 10m they should walk away. No point spending a lot of money on a guy who need his career revived and has an injury history that's scary.

Chiesa doesn't exactly solve their issues with lack of pace up front.

Let's talk seriously
His market value before the big injury (see above he is not always injured as some think) was at least 60-70m.
Now with the injury and last year of contract, it fell, but you can't reasonably say it is below 30m.

The chance of getting him for 10m +5m bonuses is what is called 'market opportunity'.
Of all the stupid moves and the big money this incompetent board has splashed w/o plan, this move would make the most sense

Also, FFS don't give him more than 6m gross. And nothing more than a 3 year contract (2+1 would be even better).

That's another ridiculous take
HAve you looked recently at our wage structure?
And I don't mean Frenkie's and Lewa's obscence ludicrous wages.
I mean the people below

Ansu gets 14m gross, Kounde gets 13m gross, Raphina gets 12m gross, Ferran gets 10m gross, etc.
And you think Chiesa will accept 6m gross? A figure which is as much as Eric Garcia and only above Cubarsi Fermin Balde? When he is currently getting 6m NET?
Get a grip!

If he reduces to 4.5m net (per rumors), 9m gross, that would be ideal in realistic expectations

It's relatively low risk and if he succeeds here there's every chance he could end up being sold for big money to the Prem or a big club.

He's only 26 which makes me more positive about thinking of him as an asset rather than a burden going forward.

We're also lacking a left winger which is another tickbox filled.

My only concern is he is another winger who likes to cut inside a lot, whilst he can definitely take width, he isn't a specialist at it, but he's clearly more natural in the winger position than Ferran.

I think as long as we do a 2+1 contract with that 4.5m net as mentioned it's acceptable (also not paying anything more than 10m fee, preferably 5m).
