I don't agree. For motivational purposes, you need to know how to motivate. But a coach can appear quiet and know how to do that. But boring, quiet speeches hardly motivate anyone, in any profession.
I watched a documentary the other day about Bon Paisley, you could barely have got a less outwardly passionate manager but the players believed in him and they were willing to die for him
On the flip side you have the likes of Dicanio who shows passion beyond belief but players dont like him.
You cant motivate players not matter how passionate you are if they dont believe and respect you.
