Francesc "Tito" Vilanova

Considering how he managed to motivate everyone for the Milan tie, he obviously didn't put as much into it for the Bayern game. And to the person who said that the players motivated themselves because of "the challenge of overcoming an 0-2 deficit" why didn't they do the same thing for a 4-0 deficit?

Maybe because overcoming a 4-0 deficit is practically impossible, while overcoming a 2-0 deficit is not?

others can score 20+ goals with Messi scoring 60+

Doubt it. 40+ yes, 60+ sounds like a one man team. It isn't natural, it's something done on purpose, just pass the ball to Messi - this is the message. There have been several arguments between Messi and Villa on the pitch for this exact same reason, that Villa tried something on his own. Seems like the only player with a licence to try a personal action is Messi. Alexis can dribble pretty well, I've seen him vs Portugal, he gave Coentrao nightmares in that match. Neymar too, can do something special himself. Barcelona has so much quality, that it can't rely only on Messi. Alexis is great on the run, I'd like him to dribble a lot more often.

Yes, on numerous occasions, both early in the season and recently.

He was also played as CB in smaller games, when Bartra could have played.

What games recently was he chosen as a center back ahead of Bartra?

He did not play nearly as many games there as people are trying to make out.

Adriano only played CB in the bigger games against Madrid (2-2, awful mistake on the offside trap at Ronaldo's second goal) and in the first leg against PSG IIRC, until he was subbed for Bartra due to one of his trademark injuries.

After the Bayern games, Tito just dropped Bartra completely.. Not a single minute, yet makeshift CB Adriano got plenty.

Adriano had a good game against Madrid and generally did well when he played there.

Bartra was utterly terrible against Bayern, shockingly bad.

Pep was the one that started playing Adriano as a CB in 2011 before the cl final. Then as a 3rd CB when Abidal went in for surgery in 2012. He also payed him in central midfield and as a winger . Its just like when Tito played Thiago as Busquets replacement. Mass meltdown even though he did that same role many times the year before. It wasnt like he played as a leftback like Iniesta had to when he was still learning the game.

If Sanchez could finish, he'd easily have 20+ goals.

As for the Messi/Villa incident earlier in the season, I doubt he got mad at Villa for "trying something on his own" or not passing to Messi, he got mad because he thought Villa made a bad decision, the team wasn't winning, it was the heat of the moment, etc. If Villa had scored, or if the team were winning, I doubt Messi would have gotten mad. Besides, arguments between temmates happen all the time.

Of course Bartra wasn't great againt Bayern, but playing barely any minutes before the most important game of the season in an already falling apart team (who was performing except for Messi in that period of time? Not even Busi (injury) or Xavi)).
I don't think Adriano had a good game against Madrid (remember we could've conceded around 5 goals in the first 30 minutes) really, caught out of position constantly. Luckily his speed saved him on some occasions.

Bartra's only game for Barcelona after the CL semis was against Atletico, where he was subbed on at 42', replacing Adriano. So there you go, after Bayern, he was as good as gone.

Bartra was no worse than most of his teammates against Bayern. On the contrary, in the second leg, Bartra and Pique were by far our best players.

Bartra played in a lot of the games in the run up to the Bayern game - six of the previous eight.

Pep never trusted him last season either and played midfielders and Adriano ahead of him.

No wonder after the Bayern game.

Bartra played in the preceeding 5 games, in two of which he played 6 and 28 minutes, respectively.

The fact that Tito didn't play Bartra even after La Liga was officially won speaks more about his shortcoming as manager than it does about Bartra's (alleged) bad performances.

Exaclty.

And that was Barcelona often struggling at the back he never got called up to help out.

Why?
