Franck Ribéry

Silva & Ribery are both injury prone , there is no denying that whoever will buy them know they will spend a nice long time in the treatment room

i mean do we even buy ribery/silva or do we just let pedro/bojan slot in there? if we do sign a young big-shot left winger, then that means that pedro and bojan's time at barca is probably finished. i would say we don't buy anyone for now and see how it goes. if we aren't doing well come january, then we can break the bank. but for now i would say we should give pedro and bojan a chance, especially if and when henry leaves in the summer.

your rite man i always thought of that , give pedro and bojan a chance, pedro plays some times but now always and bojan plays once a while and when he does just for a few minutes end of the match so i would let pedro be as a starter and bojan sub in 70s mins . Look at jeffren he doesnt play at all man i feel sorry for him and he does suck either , if he leaves this summer i wont blame him at all !!!

Swap Bojan and pedro around, he is far more effective as a starter, where as pedro is exceptional off the bench,

Barca always give the youth players a chance, it would be silly to buy in anoter big name (would be someting Real Madrid would do) Keep Bojan and Pedro playing, Ribery would be a huge fee, and hes got a poor attitude plus i think he is just using us as a way to get more wages from Real, as hes made it clear thats where he really wants to be, unsure about silva, not really the same type of LW we are looking for IMO...

We always give our Cantera players a chance, but we also always have a more experienced and proven player behind them. Do not ever forget that we're a top club and we're always aiming for success. Not tomorrow, not next year, not after five years. Now. We're not Arsenal, we're Barca. Signing big names is not just a marketing scheme, don't label it as something bad. If you do it in the right way with the right people, it means improving.

Pedro is our golden boy this season, but how big really is the pressure at his shoulders? Is he ready to be a all season starter for us, taking the whole responsibility? And as about Bojan I don't even want to start talking, if he's ready to be a starter or not. Don't forget the kid is still 19 after all.

The Cantera will always be a vital part of FCB as a club, but we should also not get too carried away with that. Yes - Messi, Xavi and Iniesta are precious for us, but they didn't make it in Barca just because they're Cantera. They made it because there's no one better. And if there's someone better than Pedro or Bojan for the LW, someone who means an improvement than what we currently have, maybe we/you should think about it again, before just saying "naah, not a big deal - give the kids a chance and let's see what's going to happen". I think we should be absolutely sure what's going to happen, not just predicting or hoping.

the thing is, i agree, i should of put this in the last post, but i have said it before, i wouldnt buy a big name jus becoz Henry is failing and could be on the way out, If he does leave, try Bojan etc, if theyre a success, whichh im sure they would be, why is there any need to buy someone? Their both young, Talented and verging on (if not already) being ready to be a starter. It seems like people are just wanting to buy a player for the sake of it, jus because we have the funds to do so (hence the real madrid reference) perfect examplle is Mascherano, Yaya and Busi are great, yet people are still wanting Mascherano, Similar with Ribery, Sure they would be good for the club as its better to have them than to play against thhem, but if we have just as good a player at the club, is there any point in spending the big money? Obviously if they arent able to cope with thhe pressure yet, bring someone in until they can...

"Bayern is still a big club. It's one of the biggest in the world but I find that our team is not as strong as other teams, like Barcelona, Real Madrid, Manchester United, Chelsea,"

That has got to be one of the most disrespectful statments from a player towards his club......If i was a Bayern Munich fan i would whistle him whenever he touchs the ball

I think thats a bit harsh.. I've heard coaches say the same kind of statements when coming up against Barca.

desoe;256138 I think we should be absolutely sure what's going to happen said:
predicting[/b] or hoping.

how can you be absolutely sure about anything unless you've given it a shot? can you be absolutely sure the burger you eat for lunch won't give you a staph infection cause diarrhea? no, but you take a chance, see what happens, and hope for the best. nothing is certain, and unless we give pedro and bojan a real chance to be in the limelight, how do we know what the response will be? so for me, i think pedro/bojan deserve that side. both of then have shown they are quality, and unless they are given real responsibility, they will not improve. none of the other cantera players (except maybe messi) were superstars after just 1 season with the club, we had confidence in them and they grew and improved. there's no reason why bojan and pedro can't do that too. and if we aren't getting results, there's always the january transfer window.

And how I said - Xavi had Guardiola behind his back in his first three years, Iniesta had Deco. Both of them had the masters to take the responsibility, before they're mature enough to do it by their own. In this case we're talking about these lads carrying a whole season all alone at their shoulders, with not having any other alternatives for the LW. Plus, I don't like the idea Bojan to be played as a LW at first place, but that's another thing to talk about.

The main question in this debate is are Pedro and Bojan enough all alone for our LW and will this weaken us or not. Because how I said - we should not think of us like a club of compromises, where we could "sacrifice" one season for another, creating some pathetic Arsenal-type of fantasy about the bright future which never really comes.

And yes - you could be 99% sure of your success with players of the Franck Ribery's calibre. Just giving an example with his name. In this case the burger is too much good to be bad and you could know it before trying it. There're already enough happy customers.

Theere's a huge difference between buying Mascherano or Cesc (where we already have world class players at these positions) and buying a world class LW. In the first case we already have Yaya and Xaviesta, in the second one we just got Pedro and Bojan. See the difference?

Plus the fact that you're starting a new season with the prospect to use the january transfer window in case of failing, means that something is just not right.

Im sorry, but Bojan has had world class people helping him in that position since his first intro to the 1st team, or is Ronaldinho and Henry not considered world class? Sure bringing in Ribery would undoubtedly bring success, but he might take a season to settle (henry, possibly Ibra) so you can never be sure. Where as Bojan/Pedro have been eased into te squad, gradually gaining Experience, and Pedro atm is putting huge pressure to keep a world class player out of te squad,

I do agree about how neither one could carry their responsibilty on their own, but thats why i thhink thhe role should be shared between the two and eventually taken over by Bojan, (is a more creative player aswell as a prolific goalscorer) i think everyone knows that these two are capable of making the role theirs.

Im not saying that no players should be brought in, but i think the LW position is fine as it is.

And what kind of development he showed since then ?

I'm sorry, but Bojan's first season was better than his second or third. It's surely not the usual way of progressing or convincing the manager that he deserves to be a all season starter.

And I think it's not. I can't imagine what's possibly hapenning if Messi gets injured. God helps us then.
