Offers much more than Gavi currently and more than Busi at DM.

Textbook Barca would be to sell him.

He deserves better really so hopefully he can make a move that suits him and standard of team more suited.

Mazroauri should have been signed, very good player and can play both LB/RB. Would allow Kounde to operate where he wants.

Mazraoui is the biggest miss from last summer as he plays in our weakest position.

That is just as big a failing if cant sell Barca to him and La Liga when would be the starting RB as opposed to Bayern who have Pavard.

It is part of Xavis job to make players want to play for him.

Many reports said Xavi was not a fan and wanted Azpi.. which seems to fit.

He’s already replaced Pavard in the line up before the World Cup. He’s a class footballer, really did miss a great opportunity there.

Like you said, Barca should have been ruthless with the old guard but players are wise to it and see better opportunities else where.

Never claimed he couldnt beat out Pavard but he was behind him for a bit and even less competition at Barca.

But failing to sell Barca is all part of it but that is not what seems to have happened and Xavi was not sure on him anyway.

But FDJ right now is also a burden on our wage bill. Actually he is the highest earner with a wage that doesn't reflect even partially his performances on the pitch.

For me, we have enough evidence to think FDJ is crap as interior and will never give the team what it needs in such position
Give him the rest of the season as pivot, to see if he can be what is needed there (for me questionable. He had a good game there vs Villareal from what I remember, but nothing else)
If not, time to cash out on him in the summer. And for that to happen, he needs to sit permanently on the bench

I agree if he would agree to leave that would be a decent amount off our wage bill & a solid 70-80m, we can add to our net transfer war chest.

I'd take a punt on one of those cheaper players we've been linked with from Argentina.

Whild De Jong as been solid for us since being here, that's all he has been & probably ever will be.

Why do a few keep thinking Mazroauri would have just come to us, maybe just maybe he actually wanted to go to Bayern, a big club in their own right.

Reports are we tried for him & he said No, much in the same way Kounde said no to Chelsea & they really really pushed for him, doesn't work like that.

Would have been an excellent signing if we could have gotten him though, but that goes without saying.

And no we can't just tell the old guard to get lost, co. Contracts don't work like that.

The reports were at time that Barca wanted Mazouari and deal was alomst done and Xavi cooled on him as preferred Azpi.

Who knows but either way he didnt arrive and was a free transfer that could have been made and club either failed to convince him or decided not to sign him in end.

Can absolutely tell the old guard their time is up and wont play. It then becomes on them if want to stay and take the money but club will never be that ruthless with amigos.

Likes of Real will be that ruthless.

Be good for FDJ to get away from Barca.

They need to pay him money owed and let him move on to better team with better leadership at this point.

As of today, Frenkie has NOT changed his mind — he doesn’t want to leave. In addition, his situation with the club, as compared to the summer, is a bit different. They’re now viewing FDJ also as a player for the future.

Funny how this worked in the end.

FDJ didn't want to leave and in turn, we didn't have money to get B. Silva But it didn't stop Xavi from benching him in favor of the Pedri-Busi-Gavi Midfield like he was trying to send some message. That Midfield trio ended up failing for both club and country.

Pairing up two kids who still have a lot to work on with a DM that is so far past his prime and expecting it to be some regen of Xavi-Busi-Iniesta is true nativity and delusion that both Xavi and Lucho shared. FDJ is still our Best Midfielder and it's not even close.

We were playing really good when FDJ was covering the LB/LCM area while Balde acted like a LM/LW

Once Balde stepped back to LB FDJ lost the space and had lesser impact

He was awful!
Bad at positioning, bad at bringing the ball out from the back, sloppy and lousy with his passing.
Invisible or disastrous in every play he touched the ball
