So he made Mats, Pique, Lenglet and FDJ, renew their contracts in 2020. In 2020 Barca saved about 16-18M in salary costs in the first year, but they were promised to earn double the amount of their previous contracts starting from 2021. Except it is not true. FdJ is by far not earning what Messi or Ronaldo are earning. He is earning less then Busi, Alba and Lewa. He is on par with the likes of Pjanic and Fati when you look at total salary earned over the entire contract. Still way too much but dont believe the propaganda BS.

He got payed 3 mil in his 2nd season. 9 mil in his 3rd. Now he has 4 consecutive years earning 18 mil/year (with deferred salary included). 9 mil after taxes.

The club says the extra cost from delayed payments and extensions signed by Bartomeu is 311 million for these 4 players. Something doesn't add up. The club will probably leak the whole thing soon to win the public opinion battle.

Remember. Bartomeu paid Messi 555m in 4 years. The guy was completely nuts. I think there are still things that haven't been made public. It is very possible that Bartomeu gave these players a huge increase in money for delaying those payments in his last years, knowing he'll be gone and someone else would pick up the insane bill. It's plausible for a rat like him to think of saving his own skin and nothing else.

He was one of the first to take a temp paycut when the club asked during COVID and also one of the first to defer his salaries when Barca could not register their players. Seems odd to me that all the widely believed and multiple reports from Marca about the salary amounts are false all of a sudden. Just when the club is struggling meeting the FFP requirement. Seem too convenient for Laporta.

Don't think anyone is better informed about the contracts of the club than the club itself. These things are confidential. Nobody reported Messi's 555m contract before a source in the club leaked it probably. Because they have no way of knowing confidential contracts, except if the club wants it leaked for some reason.

Some journalists can't really know all the shenanigans Bartomeu pulled. Only the club officials who have access to signed contracts and documents of this nature know the full amplitude of the money involved.

The source is someone from the club who has access to papers, very very likely to be so.

The next best thing would be to make the extension papers public. In which case... all shit is wide open in plain sight.

Not saying Barcelona are saints by the way. They will probably have to get their hands dirty to clear the shit. You can't clear mountains of shit from Barto the terrorist while looking pristine.
