In first season FDJ was first choice.. Xavi bizarrely changed that against Frankfurt x2 and Gavi was horrendous as Barca eliminated.

In 2nd season FDJ started out the team for first few games.. very quickly showed was better than Gavi and back in as starter.

Before formation change Gavi was benched for 6/7 of the league games and got back in at AML when formation changed.

Dont let facts get in the way though eh.

Haha no not wrong about Gavi.

Gavi been average at best bar those two Super copa games.

Awful in last two games v Benfica and Getafe and team better when hooked.. and nothing much in league before that.

Gavi cant play deeper and need more than runner at AM.

I always laugh when I remember old man busquets and a teenager sending a certain player to the bench, and the coach literally came out and said player X needs to work on his game.

Player X fans went crazy, The coach is being bias and all that none sense, instead of accepting that he needed to work on his game to find a place in the XI

Fair play to him though he did the work.

Ah that was when folk said wrong decision and took a few games for FDJ to be starter and when Xavi put him back into midfield Barca eventually went on to win league.

Gavi started what 1 of 7 games before formation change in league? And that when Pedri rested not FDJ.

With Gavi on LW running about not doing much on ball and FDJ in midfield Barca went on to win league.

Good times. Folk who said FDJ were correct.

Wasn’t perfect vs Valencia but he has continued to improve when played, more importantly he is involved in goals. I am not a fan of his continuity but it cannot be disputed that he has had a positive impact in his minutes

yes, FDJ can look good in games like the Valencia one, when he can glide past opponents and be part of the attacking machine.

But in games that demand PHYSICALITY, TENACITY, AGGRESSION, CONSTANT PRESSING, GOOD DEFENDING, etc.
which is all the important games against top sides,
he can be really awful

FDJ is clearly a better player than Gavi... when both fit.

Even this season in league.. FDJ been far too timid in contact but been levels above Gavi on the ball.

'Top sides'.. FDJ has had far more top games in midfield v Real than Gavi has since both been there... Barca have not even won a European ko tie Gavi started a game in and he has been central in about worst home defeat to Real in decades but keep at it.

Aye all those games in league that required Gavi to charge about chasing anything that moves and showing next to nothing on ball has been a huge boost.

Gavi will do well to be better than Fermin and has no clue how to play deeper in midfield.

Gavi runs a lot and is aggressive. His technical and positional game are still the same..poor.

Which means he was further down the likes of Fermin in the pecking order, let alone Olmo Gavi Casado and Pedri

We smashed past madrid 4 goals after fdj entered the pitch.
Why is even this debate of downplaying our strongest assets in 11. Gavi, pedri, fdj, cassado, fermin olmo is a blessing to have as options for 3 spots. Fdj needs to sign new contract that benefits all parties and thats it

Barca away to Real Frenkie came on at 0-0 and huge reason they won 4-0.

Gavi been terrible on the ball in the league and CL.

He is doing next to nothing to progress the ball or open game up and giving the ball away constantly.. one tackle and folk cheer though.
