They do it so Cristiano won't get upset.

Do they think Ronaldo doesn't go on the internet and find things out for himself for something? Are the banking on him trusting the world of the TV station over the rest of the world? If true and the TV station is reporting the fee not to upset Ronaldo then they are dumber than I thought.

That was the Beckham rule , which was changed.. now clubs pay 52 % of the player salary as taxes (applicable to all new contracts / renewals ) that's why we haven't reached an agreement with Cristiano till now as his 17 Mil means 35 Mil for us

Excuse my limited math skills but wouldn't 52 % of 17 million be more in the region of 25 Mil? 35 million is double the amount, or is there something I don't understand here?

This is just crazy, people are crazy. You don't pay so much money for someone who's yet to see how holding a trophy feels like. If you have to spend this crazy amount of money for one player, then at least do it for someone who is a finished product and brings the needed experience, not someone who still has a lot to 'learn' in football. Crazy!

With Ronaldo in the team he's not going to get to roam and express himself fully like he did at Spurs, and that's the player Madrid have paid the mucho £££ for. It's crazy to pay that amount and then potentially curb the players potential by limiting his space.

Don't think Real are that stupid so it's going to be interesting how it works out.

Will be interesting indeed and definitely makes me wanna watch La Liga again now with Neymar and Bale (El Classico got stale for me). I think Ronaldo will undoubtedly score less goals now with the absence of Ozil and someone else to take some of the goal scoring burden off him, I think Bale should do fine though at Real. He will have enough space to score plenty of goals and as I said before, will basically be camped out in opponents half the entire game. Ronaldo on the other flank should take a lot of the man marking he experienced at Spurs off him and free him more.

I can see Bale getting around 30 goals this season if he gets proper playing time and Ronaldo around 45.

He wants 17 Million net which means the club will cough 35 Million in order for him to take home 17 Million net

On the Ronaldo contract negotiation side , Bale could be the best thing that ever happened... if there was no Bale the club would be held hostage in the negotiations

Nothing against CR but this is his last big contract and he is sure try to milk it all

the team looks cool , but honestly Madrid need to settle down. There's a reason why they are falling short all the time. It's not just about buying new players. If you have a top squad, just give it time instead of starting from scratch each time. I think this summer Madrid once again started from scratch instead of simply being patient, especially when the changes happening are in positions such as AM with Ozil going and Bale coming.
