After all the success with Eto'o you'd think Pep would go with a similar striker. Instead he went with Ibra (big mistake, a "differen't option" should be a super-sub not a huge-name starter) which he regreted and Villa, who is great but not very pacey and will be 30 next season...

It looks like he is our main target this summer.

@Barcastuff: "Rossi met last Friday with his agents, the Pastorello brothers, to discuss Barcelona's offer: 5 year deal worth 2.5M + incentives a year."
I really would like the idea of adding Bojan to the deal, but only if it would be a loan or transfer with a good buy-back clause. I would love Bojan to be leading our attacking line along with Messi and Pedro in a few years and definitely playing for a club like Vilarreal would do him good. He would still be playing in La Liga and he would get CL experience. However 35M looks a little bit to much for Rossi. I would say 15M + Bojan with 20M buy-back clause would be great!

As I already said... That wages for a player in such a huge demand would mean awesome negotiating by the board but the transfer fee seems really huge IMO. Also the inclusion of another player means pushing it a little too much!!
For 35m we can make a lot better deals

exactly. and it's not like we can rotate him w/ anyone but Villa either. Messi and Pedro play roles that are different to what he could do.
I'd prefer us to get Forlan or Klose. they'd be cheaper and just be cover in case Bojan is injured again. I mean really, looking at Bojan's age, he'll start coming into his own right around the time Villa starts fading out. in a year or so Boje will be ready to take off. someone like Rossi just gets in his way (with no guarantee of success either).

If this deal goes through and Bojan goes to Villareal, I hope it's a loan move. I think playing at Villareal would be great for Bojan, but I would just like to be able to get him back at Barca in a year or two without having to pay for him. I'm confident he'll play a lot and play well if he goes there.
And also, I think 35m is too much for Rossi.

Rossi adds NOTHING new. Who says he can even rotate w/ Villa sufficiently, this is only the first season he's actually scored a lot of goals. 35 million would be a complete disaster. That's way more than Di Maria and Ozil plus they had a bunch of hype behind them as well. However I don't like Forlan and Klose in Barcelona would probably make me vomit.
