We've dropped 6+ points from players missing piss easy chances, we've also dropped some points by being overly aggressive when we didn't need to. Unfortunately people with agendas on this forum make out all points were dropped for the latter. As a result there can be no genuine discussion. Saying that, the other side throwing insults is even more pathetic, especially when coming from self-appointed football connoisseurs. Wise up lads.
Anyway could point out Xavi had MATS in goal, who conceded 13 less goals than expected in the title winning year (we won 11 games 1-0), insane stat for a goalkeeper of a club that is supposed to not concede many chances. But even missing that we have a second rate keeper in goal, no allowance for that though.
But at the end of the day, you're mostly judged by results at this club.
I think people are dissatisfied mostly with the points we lost foolishly. We take a draw with Atletico if we don't lose those points like idiots and it's not the end of the world. You take the 10-12 points we lost like naive idots and these points lost vs Leganes and Atletico are easier to swallow.
What is done is done. We have only winable matches until we play Atletico again. Nothing is lost but in the position we are in now, the margin of error is almost zero.
You are right about the points. This is a club where you constantly face the pressure to win titles. It's no surprise.
Yes, you can point out that in 2022-23 we conceded fewer goals than expected, but you can also point out that the defensive structure of the team was much more solid on a tactical level than what we are seeing so far under Flick. It was a more balanced, more pragmatic approach.
I don't know why it is hard to admit Flick has to improve the team in regards to how we defend. It's either that, pray the attack produces super-high output consistently, or the league season is a bust.
