Madrid splashing the cash on Mbappe and us splashing the cash on Bellerin. Seems like the gap will just grow...

this..
barca wins 2009 treble: real buys CR7, alonso, benzema; barca sells etoo
barca wins 2011 CL: real buys bale and modric within a couple of years; barca lets thiago go around this time and fails to think about long-term replacements for our ageing fullbacks and midfield

real wins back to back CLs 2016 & 2017: real signs lucas vasques and marco asensio, chases mbappe; barca signs arda, andre gomes, chases bellerin

there is a clear pattern here and it is no mystery why we're in the predicament we are in and why we are unlikely to win another CL while real looks set to continue dominating.

Doesn't his contracts have six years left? You might have to spend a huge amount just for a RB, particularly considering how crazy the market is currently looking and the crazy prices being touted for Lukaku, Van Dijk and Morata.

I mean even if we agreed to terms with Bellerin, it's all up to Wenger as he holds all the cards. I still can't see Bellerin kicking up some serious fuss in trying to force Wenger to sell him. Bellerin respects Wenger to much to do that.

Haha I knew that was bullshit the moment he said it. A La Masia player who doesn't want to come to Barca? Give me a break.

Arsenal players tend to not give a rat's ass about Arsenal or loyalty to that club no matter what they say when they're playing there. I remember Cesc giving fans permission to kill him if he ever signed for Chelsea

I don't know, this doesn't make sense at all. We don't have anyone who can play in his position in the first team. Not even a youth player

This is from an interview Bellerin did with the Daily Mail around 10 days ago:

Bellerin joined Arsenal from Barcelona at the age of 16 and signed a new contract last year tying him to the Emirates until 2023, although the clamour in the Spanish media for his return to the Nou Camp has not subsided.

'I signed my contract for a reason,' said Bellerin. 'I signed it because I wanted to be here. I wouldn't have done it otherwise.

'Arsenal is the club that gave me the chance to be a professional and since the first time I met with the boss he's always said if I progressed the right way I could be an Arsenal player for a long time.

'I've been here nearly six years and I love London. I'm still discovering the city.

'The other day, I was out in the car in east London thinking I'd never been there before. That's what I like about the city.'

If Wenger tells Bellerin the team needs him next season, he'll say. Not likely he would put in a transfer request months after signing a 6 year contract
