If we were about to sign this guy why not just sign him last season when we had no RB after Dani. That too before he signed a long contract, Robert is such a useless guy. Paying 30M for the likes of Paco and now paying 50M for this guy when we could have had him for little cheap last season. Now he will hesitate on Dembele and we will never be able to get him again, i will lose it if he doesn't sign a good midfielder.

With Valverde and now this guy, I have a bad feeling about the upcoming season

On the other hand, some high quality players will leave Real Madrid after this season (Morata, James, Pepe, ...), which will definitely make them weaker.

Really? They get a truck load of money selling some of their bench players and they'll invest like they always do; some of the most talented players in the world younger than 25.

The thing is that their first team are already overcrowded with talented players. I believe they cannot sign any big one this summer because high quality players don't want to go there and be benched. They will look at Morata for example. Very skilled but still just a substitution.

The same is true for us if we want to sign another striker. They don't come because they don't want to be substitution for MSN.

Nah, RM are absolutely stacked with quality. They are always finding a way to get players to sign for them. Isco has been with them for years and years now. His wages are reportedly lower than some of our garbage players and he still loves being there without even being a starter.

in last 4 hours: Bellerin agent spotted in Barcelona, Bellerin is loyal to Wenger and stays at Arsenal, Bellerin has an agreement with Barca, Arsenal are confident Bellerin will stay. I think I will just give up on following these rumours, totally pointless.

Hector Bellerin flirts with Barcelona.

Hector Bellerin and Olivier Giroud have both indicated that they could be open to moves away from Arsenal despite manager Arsene Wenger’s attempt to complete a series of early summer signings.

Bellerin is a target of former club Barcelona and, while Arsenal are adamant that there is no prospect of him leaving this summer amid a contract that expires in 2023, the 22 year-old appears noticeably less convinced about his immediate future.

In an interview with the Spanish newspaper Mundo Deportivo, Bellerin said that it was a “great thing to know about the interest of a club like Barca” and that “you never know what can happen”. He also talked about wanting to play in the Champions League and how his family had returned to Barcleona.

When Bellerin signed his latest contract at Arsenal last November, he spoke about being “happy to be a Gunner for many more years” and how he was not thinking about another club.

Although Wenger has been publicly dismissive of Barcelona’s chances of signing Bellerin, there is an obvious potential parallel with how Cesc Fabregas became progressively more determined to return to Spain.

He also made similarly ambiguous public pronouncements until the pressure for his move eventually became difficult to resist.

I hate his face, I hate his style of play, I hate how he left La Masia, I hate how he plays for Arsenal, I hate his defensive weaknesses, I hate his offensive IQ, I hate his haircuts, I hate how fast he is, I hate the way he holds his head when he smiles in pictures, I hate how the colors red, blue, black, and green look on him, I hate that he'd be expensive, I hate that he's a clone of Alba, I hate that he's young enough to keep us stuck with him for a decade, I hate that he thinks we want him just because he's La Masia, I hate that he just signed a new contract at Arsenal, I hate that we might be set for another Cesc saga, and I hate..........

God dammit. Welcome to FC Barcelona.

Wenger won't sell without having replacements lined up. The only players that could leave would have to have leverage, like Chamberlain, Sanchez, and Ozil (last year of their contracts). Bellerin HAD leverage 6 months ago, but he chose to sign a 6 year contract instead. Arsenal doesn't have any other quality RBs, to the point that they play midfielders and CBs out of position or change the formation when Bellerin is injured.

How does it make any sense that a player on a 6 year contract (who said he wanted to stay last week) suddenly agrees to terms with Barca and wants a transfer? The only way it makes sense is if Barca pays way too much for him, like 70 million, and no way would they pay that for a young defender (that they gave us for free a few years ago) who isn't even ready to play at that level yet.

That only means that Arsenal is trying to pump his current price even more for extra 5-10 Millions.

** English sources say that a transfer fee will be in between 50 and 58M Euros.
Is this the most expensive RB in a history?

We'll see how good of negotiator Robert is with Hector's transfer. If we sign Bellerin for more than 30-35M, which is his maximum price given the Europa League prospect next season, Robert Fernandez should resign immediately.

BTW Arsene Wenger always has replacements in mind. He's used to the idea of his club selling key players to Barcelona and rival Premier League clubs. It's not a big deal for the man, I would celebrate crazy like Ronaldinho if I sell Bellerin for 40M.

Why would Wenger sell his only first team RB (who is on a 6 year contract) for 40m? If it's happening, it's going to be a record breaking number, and even then both Barca and Arsenal fans will be angry about it.
