I just finished reading the whole thread. It's amazing how in a little over a month Ibi managed to get everybody on his side especially the people who thought he was just a waste of space at the beginning. and more than 75% thought he was a nobody lol

Probably because noone expected much and also because noone considers him as first 11 player.
And it's probably for the best for him not to have that burden on his back. His cheap price also helps.

He's 100 Percent a sportman.

Not like Gio dos santos, Ronaldinho, Jonathan who are Party animals...

Ibi is only focused on football.

Does anyone know if he played yesterday for Holland and if so, how did he look?...Scratch that, did a little research...Played, scored and did an impressive job apparently

Anyone see the match?

I'm confused...Huntelaar is listed as a goalscorer instead of Afellay despite reading that he scored...Anyone?

He didnt score, but he had a good match. Started on the leftside in the first half and moved to the centre to replace Sneijder in the 2nd half.

Tito on Afellay – “We met all the conditions to sign him in December, because it was a great chance that the market gave us. Ibi can play in many positions, both inside and outside, up front or in midfield, and for us that is basic. He has a technical background in handling the ball and a very good definition in front of goal. He likes to come and shoot from deep. He is good at finding space and offers support recovering the ball. We’re thrilled with him, of course.”

I can see his contribution rising to the Keita/Maxwell/Pinto level next year or possibly even during the remainder of this year. Able to step in as a sub, a rotation starter or injury replacement starter and the team carries on at the highest level. I'm not sure if Masch is up to this integration level yet. I think Afellay is already showing he can fill in for Iniesta or at forward, which was the weakness of this year's Barca bench before his arrival. With the bench performing at this level, I think the team could absorb temporary absences from anybody but Messi.

I'm in favour of selling him for something around 10 million in the summer.

Afellay out and Barça 7 million richer to spend on a better player. Awesome business.

He's a good utility player, keita 2.0. He's having a bad game today, but so is the whole team. Even Messi.
