Had Gundogan stayed, we wouldn't be able to register Olmo. On top of it, it took a long term injury from Christensen to free up some space. Pretty clear why he was pushed out.

He accepted to go for reasons, only one of which related to helping the club out.

There is no reason to keep an old handsomely paid veteran when you have just brought in a 60m player on that position. The reason why we signed Olmo while already having Gundogan for AM position is that, sporting wise, he is seen as an upgrade over Gundogan. For good reasons.

If the club had full confidence in Gundogan delivering in all areas and roles that the manager requires from his AM, then there was no need to spend such a hefty sum on Olmo, not to mention dealing with all the struggles to register him, and would have looked at improving other positions.

Olmo...better than Gundogan as an AM?

Lol..share what you smoking bro!

This must be a paid attempt to paper the buffonery behind the transfer. Anyway you look at it, for a financially handicapped entity, it was a terribly poor decision.

Olmo fits better than current Gundo, he is faster, can play quicker passes, has better shooting and off-ball movement

Gundo has probably better final pass but overall i prefer Olmo than old Gundo 💯

We'll see mate. So far he has 2 goals in about 120 mins. Gundogan had 5 in the entire season. Not to mention he hit the post like 3 times.

Anyway, the manager prefers Olmo so it's case closed. It's a sporting decision mainly.

Lol...so simpleton....like the manager had a choice.

Left to Flick, Gundogan would have remained. In fact, he pleaded with him fervently to stay.

Besides, who compares two players by the number of goals in one season.....where would you leave overall accomplishments?? ...akin to comparing a Bellingham to a Modric because of the number of goals he scored last season.....baloney!!

If Olmo ever reached half of what Gundogan accomplished as player in his whole career, while he (Olomo) plays for Barca, there would be a petition to erect a statue of him in Camp nou.

We need Olmo legs. Especially if Lewa not needs to do any pressing.
So, basically, Barca paid 60m and then had to sell talents and took salaries of injured players to register injury ravaged legs of a younger but inferior version of Gundogan?

Common!! I get the need for you all to want to wish away the stupidity behind the transfer by spurning out all "positives" around the blunder, but damn!!... come up with less infantile justifications, pleaseeeeee!!

According to Laporta him and Olmo had the same profile and Gundogan had no clear role in the team anymore, so he left.

If that is true it's the first time in years anything makes sense. I was very clear, if Olmo arives, Gundogan needs to go.
The clowns were absolutely losing their minds over Gundogan leaving. The new Coutinho was at least a man of honor.
Also, if you buy Nico, you need to sell Raphinha. That is clear as daylight.

Clusterfucking players every damn year because some kids on youtube promote them or mundo hypes them is what made us bankrupt. They also tend to blame the board after their hypes flop.
If left with a choice between a player known for being outspoken and fortright about things even in adverse situations and a club president, whom many, including his closest associates, have accused of lacking integrity....its a clear as a day and night who i will pick to listen to

Gundogan spoke the truth....take it and live with it.
