Ivan Rakitić

I think Halilovic could really be a part of the deal. Emery said that if Rakitic leaves, they should find another Rakitic. (Halilovic, another Croatian) So think it's coincidence, but to me it seems like they will loan him for one season, and Alen will be their new Rakitic :lol:

No. Halilovic needs to adapt to Barça's style first. Loaning him out would be a mistake.

Last Croat to play for Barca was Robert Prosinecki. Many similarities between Rakitic and Prosinecki.

Both central attacking midfielders born in German countries but playing for Croatia. Very similar playing style. Killer balls, technique, good at fks. Both exactly the same height.
And as the picture shows, similar appearance and both playing for Sevilla at one point.

I just hope Rakitic proves to be a success as Prosinecki was already burned out when we signed him.
He was once a fantastic player. Led Crvena Zvezda to Champions Cup.

Who says he's gonna be an automatic starter here? He's coming to replace Cesc, and Cesc was never a definite starter.

I think Lucho will do a lot of rotation. Even Busi with Masch. Only definite starter is Iniesta in the midfield.

Yeah, many assists came from setpieces but that doesn't mean he can't put up a troughball, he's actually a specialist at them.

Maybe we can score more from setpieces too, he puts them up inch perfect.

Deal on Rakitic is being postponed because talks on Denis Suarez loan go on. Sevilla will have buy-back, Barcelona can block buy-back [rac1]

@up apparently less than 20M.
