I'm sorry but I don't understand the love some of you have for him. Either he doesn't take the EL seriously or he's bad at defending.

He's been solid in the pl all season. You've said here before you haven't seen much of him, so it's not fair to judge based on that.

Yes that's true, but I don't understand how he could be so good in the PL and so bad against a mediocre team like Basel. That's why I wrote it might be due to lack of motivation in the EL and I think this is the case with most of the Tottenham players, I just feel they don't care at all about the EL.

Most of them looked pretty gutted at the end.

No, they're just facing better opponents than usual, they definitely looked like they wanted it, otherwise they wouldn't have run as much as they did.

Sounds like someone is underrating Basel, same side that kicked United to the curb from the same competition last season...It's our sister club, show a little respect

That is off-topic ,but what do you guys think about Mohamed Salah (He is Basel no 22 who scored first goal) ,this kid us one of Egypt's best young player and it will be good to read a neutral opinion about him

I think we'll be hearing Salah's name more & more going forward...Basel have themselves a gem of a player...You wouldn't know it though since Basel are a fairly conservative club and have barely featured him in league play

the guy is a god,dat assist today :worthy:
and Tottenhams defence was all over the place,he was the only solid defender on the night
still cant believe they got him so cheaply

I don't underrate them, I actually love them and the way they play or I wouldn't have watched their EL games this season. But I think I'm not disrespecting them in any way if I say they don't have the same individual class as teams like Tottenham or Zenit. They were better last season because they had players like Shaqiri and Xhaka.
