I PRAY you don't sign Martinez and condemn him to play at central defence for the rest of his career as it would be a huge waste of talent. Like you waste the talent of Mascherano in central defence. Sure he is magnificent in that position, as is Martinez, but in their natural positions, in midfield they are in JM's case world class and in Martinez's case potential world class.

Would hate to see him waste his potential magnificence in central midfield by plying his trade in defense. It'd be very disappointing.

Pique is faster and better player than Hummels.He is second to no one but the great Puyol for both Barca and Spain NT.

Pique has been playing consistently and none stop for both Barca and Spanish NT for three consecutive years with WC and EC.
Ramos although very good is nowhere near his level.Even his EC 2012 performances showed that Ramos relies more on his power and speed and less in his skills and positioning.
I really don't understand why you are so harsh on him.He had a bad year but so did Barca and iirc he was also injured.

He will for sure be signed now, not really want him to be honest. he is awesome and all, but for one i want to see that bilbao team together for all long as possible and two I trust in bartra to be awesome after a season and we don't need a top defender to effectively be our 4th choice CB

Ramos as you say is more of a Puyol type of player and with that in mind you can't really compare him with Pique cause they have different duties on field.
He only started playing regularly as a center back last season so he has much yet to prove but as i already said he is a very good player.
As i said a few post aboves we need a player to play along Pique and not like Pique.Masch is that kind of player Hummels and Javi not so much.
I can remember Busi's games from WC 2010 and he was nowhere near the player/beast he had been last season.

In central defence JM is not world class. Sure he may have been brilliant in that position and won loads of trophies but for any other club in the world he be the automatic choice as the DM and would be world class in that role, as he has proven with us and Argentina. Same thing with Martinez. Sure he will be brilliant in defence and win loads of trophies, but at any other club his magnificence at central midfield will be seen and that is his rightful position. Thus seeing as you ruined JM's career as a midfielder - a world class midfielder - I don't want the same thing to happen to Martinez.

Want a defender? then buy a freaking defender not a midfielder acting as a defender.

Then again Puyi is a striker we ruined, Piqué a midfielder we ruined. Even Fontàs was a midfielder. All of the laterals lately have had history as wingers and some in midfield - although there the damage is usually already done by others.

We've tried buying defenders. Txigri, Càceres and Henrique during Pep era. The first two were quite awesome in their own ways. Things just didn't work out. Abi was probably the last CB buy that went well. Even if we thought we were buying a LB.

I'm not saying it's right, but there might be a slight inclination by those in charge to go with the working formula.

we already bought a defender couple of days ago who was a striker when he was a kid

ed is a true englismam, a defender has to born as a defender and die as a defender. and his dad was a defender and his kids has to be defender as well. and ofcourse in 442 formation.
