Listening to all of Robert's statements in the presser, this one, in its tone and insistence, seemed rather bizarre. To me it sounds like A) he is pretty sure of another signing (Coutinho?) that definitely rules out Seri or B) something major has happened behind the scenes which rules out Seri regardless of circumstances. Of course the third option is that he was serious with his explanation of needing to prioritise other positions, but given the obvious need to strengthen the midfield, the deal having been as close as it was and time running out fast, I just don't believe they'd discard him just like that. I somehow still don't believe in Coutinho (at least not in a deal being close), so B seems more likely to me. Still hoping it's just negotiation tactics, seeing as they're dealing with Nice for Marlon anyhow.

Just give 50m and get Seri..
Irrespective of Coutinho, Mahrez, Lemar and whoever might come tomorrow, we are in desperate need of a controller for the md. We cannot have only Buquets and runners like Roberto or Paulinho.
I look at Madrid having both Kroos and Modric and i feel so bad

Imagine a 37 years old Xavi.
He can pass and control, but he can't run or do anything else.

Is that kind of a Xavi helpful for Barca?
No.
Can his passing ALONE without running, stamina and defending help too much?
No.

Well, 37 years old Xavi is similar to Seri.
Except that Xavi was a way better passer and with a way better vision, and Seri can run slightly more than a 37 years old Xavi.

We need a controller, but we are now desperate and we are creating controllers out of players who are not Barca's level of controllers.

Modric is 32 anymore and not getting older. He is their best midfielder by far. They won't be able to replace him, just because Kovacic is poor man's Modric. 1-2 level downgrade to Modric.

How does Xavi know he has Barca DNA? He prob never seen a Nice game in his lifetime

Xavi said in an interview he started watching many Nice games after people told him about an African Xavi that existed in France.

I doubt that, the guy must hear such stuff all the time. He was probably just trying to make a compliment.

The amount of shit you read here these days.

"When I was told that a player from Nice was called the 'African Xavi', I followed him very closely," Xavi told Le Parisien. "I didn't know [Seri] and I was entranced.
"I'm not used to seeing such talent in midfield any more. The short game, long game, tactical intelligence, long-range shooting, personality, organisation of the play... Madre mia!

"He would do so well at Barca. He can play anywhere in the middle. He is fantastic. He has what they call the Barca DNA. No doubt."
