Man better hope this Super League gamble pays off or else he might have to pack his bags and go.

If he doesn't move on from Busquets, Pique next summer, at least so they don't start for us anymore, all this will be for nothing.

Yeah. Go serious now or there was no point in all this. Messi is the last one of the old guard that should have left.

How is Laporta at fault here? He did what he could but it wasn't possible.

What did he do eventually? Promised in his campaign to keep Messi and in the end 'lost' him. Got 4 players in, none of the high earners out. And in the end he blame it all on Tebas.

That was the plan all along, ditch Messi and start his new era. Technically not a crime, but didn't keep his promise and lied to fans and Messi. Also made our best player ever leave like he did.

They fucked up first time by not saying it was due to UEFAs lack of implementation on FFP, lack of dealing with racism and taking too much money from the clubs as main driver behind it.

Too arrogant in way approached it and now seems hollow if say ESL is in part for those reasons.

Would be interesting if even just the Spanish and Italian teams agreed to join a league together and pulled out CL. Even that would have huge impact and potentially they could make up CL money would receive through better tv deal and it was make the CL far far less relevant.

Come on get over this conspiracy theory already. He promised to negotiate a deal with Messi, he did that. He didn't know just how fucked the club's finances were until the audit which happened way after he was elected. Sometimes circumstances just change, it doesn't mean he planned this all along.

Yep. This could even bring back powerhouses that have been frogotten like Porto, Benfica, Ajax.

There are over 30 CL titles between Barca, Madrid, Milan, Juve, Inter, Porto, Benfica, Ajax, PSV.

If you undermine CL you do a number on UEFA. EPL becomes no1 though and PSG are in the mud since the only competition that matters to them is devalued.

Not a chance Laporta wanted to get rid of Messi. In some ways it's already tainting his legacy as he's now the man who couldn't keep Messi from leaving, people accusing him of choosing ESL over Messi etc it's all over twitter for example. So despite all the work he did previously, the pain of losing Messi and the way he left unfortunately won't be forgotten, even though it was the previous administrations fault.

I think ultimately all the ESL clubs were extremely arrogant in their approach to introducing it and misjudged the fan reaction because of the exclusivity granted to certain clubs and going against sporting merit. What worries me though is Real, Barca and Juve seem hell bent on running with this without an apparent plan B to stay relevant in case it doesn't fly.

Yeah, circumstances change when contracts have to be signed. He had 5 months and knew the rules of la Liga. Suddenly the audit finishes just before 5 of August. Are you this naive in day to day life, mate?

We'll find out eventually the truth on what really happened.
