There are more evident cases such as not being able to get rid of the likes of Sergi Roberto near the end of his contract. It can't be THAT hard to do. Hell, they couldn't even get rid of the likes of Collado, so it doesn't surprise me. Oh and also signing that bum Aguero lol.

This guy is finished less than 6 months into his presidency.

Hard to believe Font could have done worse than this even after his campaign went to disaster.

Cmon Fonts campaign itself was total disaster

Laporta is the best for this extremely complicated period. You need experienced leaders when shit hits the fan. Font doesn't have the credentials and the maturity of Laporta and would have no doubt taken some shortcuts to keep Messi at all costs. Laporta is a much better man for a crisis and has let the club to glory after being mediocre for years in the Galactico Madrid era. Font could be better on fair weather, but don't trust him to sort out this huge mess one bit.

The saving grace of the club could be that the financial problems are not necessarily matched by a lack of quality in the team (except for some known weaknesses). We do not play like a team devoid of quality, but like one that is on the right path of building a new strong core.

Absolutely, Laporta all the way!

Lot of "smart" people on here that just don't understand the situation on the ground & trying to believe in fairy tails.

The man is doing exactly what is best for the club, what more could he do it when the club lost "half a billion dollars" in "revenue".

Let that skin it for a minute, $500,000,000, all his best laid plans when out the window with that one.

He even literally said it, the situation I came into was much worst than I expected.

The LaLiga Assembly approves the agreement with the CVC Investment Fund The four teams that voted against this deal will not get the money.

Laporta can't catch a break. He is really starting to look like a fool.

That is actually awesome news. He got what he wanted and protected future situation of the club.
That is probably the 1st good news in his presidency, other than trophies won last season

Yeah.
And I don't get why people keep blaming him on off-loading players.
Can it be done unilaterally? The answer is No.
Can a player be forced to decrease his salary? No
Can a player be forced to defer his salary? No
Did players accept either reducing their salary or deferring it? No
Can we sell a player without his approval? No
Can we sell a player without having an offer from another club? No
Is there is a player we could sell and we rejected the offer? No

wtf is he supposed to do? Half the squad is 29+ years of age, they don't want to lose money they won't get back later, they don't want to move wage to later when they can happily enjoy playing in MLS

The ideal situation would have been for the deal to be rejected and Tebas to be forced to ease up this time.

Although I supported Font during the elections and before, I agree with that.
Laporta is better equiped to take difficult decisions here, and the amount of destruction that Barto and Rossel have inflicted upon the club cannot be solved just by Font's plan.
Font, on the contrary, has a better vision and rational plan for the future of the club, and is not ad-hoc like Laporta.
I guess it would be ideal if Laporta cleans the mess, makes the club decent again, and then Font takes over some time within the next 10 years to take the club to the next level.

Exactly some are acting as if it's only one party involved in all the dealings of the club, two parties need to agree for anything to happen and in the situation of selling a play three, so he should just wave his magic 🪄 and make all these things happen, even if the players are saying no?.

We sold/lost Messi, Firpo, Alena, Trincao, Todibo and Matheus Fernandes (lol) and are struggling to register even Depay.

The problems are much deeper than Laporta.

Atleast he managed to close the Demir deal which could be another Pedri.

Exactly. This is unrealistic. Just screwing over Barca. That's what it is.

Some socios are planning for a 'Laporta resign' banner to be displayed at Camp Nou this weekend during the league opener. [@JBurgosUb]

Nah, Tebas is a politician, there was no way this was at risk when it was going to be voted.
Smaller clubs with private investors have different priorities which is ok as long as it doesn't hurt Barca.
