I know it's a drastic measure and would tarnish the image of the club even more but what else is left if no one agrees to leave or take pay cuts?

The time for nice negotiations was 2 months ago, now it's different. The transfer windows closes in a few weeks and it doesn't look like anyone will leave or take a paycut so we can say goodbye to Depay and Garcia.

well what was laporta doing 2 months ago then? if they manage to register all new signings then it is clear that they thought it out from the beginning and messi was let go because he was no longer wanted.

if they don't manage to register the new signings then it means laporta is clueless and didn't have a plan for this club to begin with.

...Or not re-signing Messi and getting a few more players to accept wage cuts was finally enough to register the new players. It's scrappy, highly doubt that it was planned this way.

that's just wishful thinking for now. isn't it?

these wage cuts would just mean they sign on for longer contracts on reduced wages. don't think laporta wants to fuck up his project by keeping the likes of umtiti, dembele, coutinho and griezmann around.

He struggled to get the security deposit when he was elected, which would have forced him to resign. Still, I would wait and I hope that he actually knows what he needs to do and how he will get there.

Jaume Roures, the co-founder of Mediapro, which is the holder of domestic La Liga TV rights in Spain, said he would stop supporting Laporta and the board, and will withdraw the 30m guarantee money.

It appears this decision has more to do with our rejection of the CVC deal and Laporta's ESL aspirations than anything else.

That's not great. They really struggled to get the guarantee money and there were even rumors people connected to the Messi family put up some money for his guarantee.

Getting 30m in the current situation of the club isn't going to be easy.

Form what I read, we are not in any danger, we don’t have to worry about replacing the 30m, perhaps because the current budget is a lot less than what was initially presented, which was over 800m? 15% of the the budget will need to be guaranteed.

That could be the case.

Depay is in the club, he just won't play La Liga...

Josep Maria Bartomeu is justified on the losses of the club on the season 2020-2021:
He explains that Laporta had 4 offers for 49% of Barca Corporate, of at least € 220m.
He specifies that his departure has not made it possible to work on further wage cuts.

He also clarified that Barca had planned € 350m from the SuperLeague. That all these events would have made it possible, in addition to the CVC agreement, to limit losses due to COVID.

And this is precisely why I said going soft on Bartomeu/Rosell was a mistake.

Time for Laporta and this board to name and shame by presenting the audit and making a complaint to the police if necessary if they suspect fraud/embezzlement of any sort.
