Joan Laporta

The LaLiga Assembly approves the agreement with the CVC Investment Fund The four teams that voted against this deal will not get the money.

Laporta can't catch a break. He is really starting to look like a fool.

The most important part of that is left out, which is:
"CVC has agreed not to negotiate, "within their 10%", the audiovisual rights of the clubs that have voted against the deal. In other words, FC Barcelona and Real Madrid will not be affected by the deal. The clubs who have voted against the deal, including Real Madrid and FC Barcelona, will not receive any of the 2.7 million euros being injected into LaLiga. In exchange, CVC will not have any influence, now or in the future, over their rights or income."

Laporta’s hands are tied and did what he could do, I have no problems with that. My problem with him is that he kept toying with fans and not being straightforward and transparent about stuff, from Messi’s renewals to the registration of the new signings. He kept telling us the stuff that we wanted to hear such as “going well” and “they will be registered” etc. while in actuality it might be the opposite.

Just say “we have hit some roadblocks and have some hard issues to resolve”, “our proposals have been rejected”, “we are still working on it and we don’t know the outcome” and being truthful about everything is not the end of the world.

The poop players who refuse to leave should just be put in the stands for the remainder of their contracts

Call upon Demir, Gavi, Manaj, Nico to play instead

The midfield depth looks suspect on paper. Wasn't good last season either. Needing to hope players stay healthy and young guys step up.

Plus not having the new signings registered. It is what it is with the cards that Laporta was dealt, but he has been underwhelming so far in his presidency, atleast with the first team. Can't speak to behind the scenes stuff.

Im starting to think that we are wromg to believe in voting for Laporta would change anything at this club, the only way now is simply keep on crashing down, look at the quality of this freaking team, Coutinho, Dembele, Antoine blah blah. These mofos will suck us dry and move to other team on a free

Nobody could do anything. Barto gave outrageous salaries to our bums and now nobody wants them or they don't even want to leave. Only way is to buy them out but he can't because financial situation.

This. People who think you can fix Barto's mess within a few months are delusional. Some seem to have still no plan how bad the financial situation really is. People should put their anger towards Bartomeu, not Laporta. Let's not forget that the postponement of elections made it even more difficult. Deadline to finish the season with higher revenue (and therefore higher salary cap) was 30th of June. Laporta could sell 50% of Barca corporate today for 200M and it wouldn't change anything regarding registration of players. Griezmann alone is burdening the salary cap with 60M (salary + amortization) yearly. Let that sink in. Coutinho, Dembele, Frenkie and Pjanic are fucking expensive too as all of them are not fully amortized yet.

The audit also found contracts of players to have bonuses that were ridiculously easy to achieve, making them almost a guaranteed salary over the fixed-wage.

I know Laporta asked fans to be calm, that everything will be fine etc. He was just trying to find a solution and thought he had found one in the CVC-deal, which turned out not to be. I'm not really happy with his new stint as president for various reasons, but all of us are expecting too much too soon.

Yeah.
And I don't get why people keep blaming him on off-loading players.
Can it be done unilaterally? The answer is No.
Can a player be forced to decrease his salary? No
Can a player be forced to defer his salary? No
Did players accept either reducing their salary or deferring it? No
Can we sell a player without his approval? No
Can we sell a player without having an offer from another club? No
Is there is a player we could sell and we rejected the offer? No

wtf is he supposed to do? Half the squad is 29+ years of age, they don't want to lose money they won't get back later, they don't want to move wage to later when they can happily enjoy playing in MLS

Can he put the players that won't accept paycuts on the stands for entire season or untill they agree? Yes

True, maybe some of them (those a little bit younger like Griez, Lenglet, Alba) would and maybe that would be enough to register new signings.

Even if they wouldn't care and would happily sit on the stands is a plus for us fans who would be able to watch younger players play rather then the old overpaid ones.

To be honest I only had Umtiti, Pjanic in mind with my reply.

I think we can find solutions for Pjanic, Coutinho this window. Just that they won't be very favourable.

Someone like Braithwaite would probably accept a move if he was told he is not in the squads plans and won't play this season.

Guys like Griezmann and Lenglet we are better than off keeping in the squad dynamics as they can offer something's ng.

It all depends how close or far we are to the cap to be able to register the new signings. All of that information is currently hush hush.

Once we get through this season then at worst we lose the hefty contracts of Dembele and Roberto next summer. After losing Messi for free, losing them two will be chicken feed.

there are many negative implications by doing that. players will probably sue the club. club image around how they treat players and respect contracts will be forever tarnished. there are surely commercial contracts based around those players.

playing just kids won't be better as it will surely mean not finishing in CL places - better close the club then.

I know it's a drastic measure and would tarnish the image of the club even more but what else is left if no one agrees to leave or take pay cuts?

The time for nice negotiations was 2 months ago, now it's different. The transfer windows closes in a few weeks and it doesn't look like anyone will leave or take a paycut so we can say goodbye to Depay and Garcia.
