They are better off just being honest with fans and solidifying the situation and long term good of club.

Selling off parts of club and taking CVC to sign old players for couple seasons is too short sighted.

The Barca squad with good coaching can fairly easily make top four at least and favs for CL last 16.

This idea that Barca have to have stars and there cant be any seasons to rebuild comes with its own dangers.

Then try to make deals within the rules as did last summer and in Jan.

They are in a shit situation financially but also dont have the usual expectations either.. most fans want to see progression and a view of the future not a team built on amigos and players in 30s brought in for short term gains and parts of club sold to facilitate it.

I agree on this. Don't risk the future for couple oldies who won't push this team over the top. If we need a financial rebuild, that needs to be #1 priority. We can't compete without good finances anyway..

I thought the club had plenty of money & could put together a deal to sign haaland and the likes if they really wanted to, us not being able to even entertain them wasn't because we didn't have money but because we are trash in their eyes?

No they should just be honest that they are broke? Something they have been saying at every turn for months now.

Yeah xavi & Laporta said weeks ago.

The club have options such as CVC and other sales of club... not worth it for older players and short term gains. Remains to be seen if club think like that or execute it for Lewandowski.. something some think is a genius move apparently.

No they should be honest with expectations and not claim 'Barca are back as major force' in summer and that Barca absolutely have to challenge every year to justify short term decisions and cant have seasons where focus is more long term.

Do keep up.

From the man who thinks Laporta wastes tens of millions on Torres but then in next breath tries to make out has no money to sign anyone. Give the man a break.

They need to stop saying "we are back", bite our ass on Torres transfer(Laporta saying we are back) and then Pique after Real 0-4.

Torres transfer bad so far, things went to shitter after Pique comment.

Stop saying it!

Do and say nothing

Laporta said it also and at time he was trying to get players to take pay cuts as had no money... great idea that one.

Clear example of talking too much and trying to come out with headlines cant back up.

Fucking cool the beans, temper expectations and be honest all round with where club is.

I agree, he has tendency to go over the board, like Dembele world class..

I mean, at least keep it real, not total BS

He said Dembele is better than Mbappe... all while trying to get Dembele to take a pay cut... and then shouting to world about how Barca are back in summer as serious players on the market.

Yeah that's really bad. Almost idiotic.

Dumbele level managing of the team. (Not World Class I tell ya)

Well, you'll never hear from Laporta the words "Dembele great" ever again.

On Ferran transfer it's a three way responsibility - Laporta, Alemany and Xavi. I get the notion from this debate here that Laporta is singularly responsible for Ferran transfer, but my suspicions fall heavily on Xavi rooting for his signing.

Club presidents are after the biggest names like Real and Mbappe saga, the rumours of Barca and Haaland, etc. They are not scouts and I'm far from the thought that Laporta had any involvement with the signing of Aubameyang, who turned out to be great this half-season for Barca.

People are just crazy.

Clearly ferran was a ask by Xavi, who they had to back because he was there hand picked man.

Xavi, Laporta, Alemany, have said multiple times we are in a tough situation economically but as Barcelona we have the responsibility to compete.

That's not good enough for some, you have some saying the club has PLENTY of money & can sign whoever they really wanted, but the players they want aren't interested in joining FC y, despite the leaders of the club saying on REPEAT.

We have no money, we are trying to put a competitive team together under our economic constraints.

That is not good enough for a next set of fans who isn't happy with them saying that, because that is too positive.

They want the leaders of the club to basically come out and say, we are fucked, we will continue to be fucked, we are lucky to even still exist as a club, we will struggle to put a competitive team together, prepare your minds do suffer really really suffer, because we are shit.

Because that's how you attract investments & build moral which is something the club desperately needs right now.

So they hang out to every little throw away statements made by the men trying to change that's, that were clearly said during negotiations with X player or said just as a sort of reminder that hey WE FC Barcelona despite our situation is still around, we are still a big club.

Smh.

Most of us here woke up from this dream the moment Messi was forced out of the club. I mean mostly the fantasies of signing Haaland next summer and teaming up with Messi.

There are still some who live in that world, but reality is even if FC Barcelona are still relevant as reputation, the club is not competitive financially. So we get peanuts and try to build a team for the future, meanwhile some of our great talents look for the exit.

I don't want to be in Laporta's position right now.

We have no money, I get it. But how can Laporta justify signing free oldies on high wages and sporting-wise making little sense (Azpi, Alonso and Kessie etc.), while letting young players slip away?

It is truly depressing to see everybody else, including Madrid and Bayern who are already steps ahead of us planning for the future and getting linked to promising young players while we are just keeping a repertoire of old and increasingly ineffective Spanish players.

This can just be explained by the lack of money. Poor planning and zero vision.

Same old shite repeated.

Arguing with things that have never been claimed as means of deflection.

The biggest moaners against Laporta are those claiming club have no money and yet wasted tens of millions on Ferran.

Haha aye investment will fair flow through the books when Azpi, Alonso and Lewa arrive...

The point is short terms gains of these types of players to try and compete now and pay for it in future.

Laporta talks too much. Ask Messi.

Kessie us 25, he isn't old. And he fits in fine, at least on paper.
We signed many young prospects, and those we let go didn't prove us wrong (Moriba says hi)
Not sure how RM or Bayern are ahead of us planning for the future, they are both heavily reliant on their old guard.
The reason we are linked to Alonso and Azpi is due to coach wishes and liw cost, sure some random journalists claimed they will get high salary but that isn't something we know yet, so no reason to complain based on assumptions

So jamdav the dummy never claimed the club has plenty of money to sign likes of haaland & Tchouameni if they really wanted to? Despite everyone with sense knowing & saying that's an impossible task?.

Yes or No, dodo brain?.

Ah yes apzi & alonso multi million dollar signings & not fre ones, market opportunities we are taking because we have No Money.
