It's really a testament to why the club is in the state that it is in.

The club has had a divided fanbase over the last 2.5 decades on Barto/Rosell and Laporta with different groups having polarized views that one president was saving the club while the other was destroying it.

In reality, both parties are just smelly, greasy catalans who are awful at running club and will both ultimately would/will doom the club.

Laporta leaned heavily on Cruyff and was lucky we had generational talents. Aan obese president who runs his mouth overtime
When you vote for Laporta, you need to understand how he works. He isn't an expert in money, nor has a huge network apart from some agents who are his friends.
Laporta is a lawyer, running his mouth is actually a big strength of him, that's the reason people vote for him in the first place. With his mouth, he manages to convince people. Be it staff, players, reporters or fans. He is very charismatic.
Another strength is his connections to capable people he leans on and that is, where his success depends on. His first term was successful, because he managed to bring in skilled people like Berigistain and Soriano both lead City now. He started his second term also by bringing in experts with Alemany and Ferran Reverter ceo of the Media Markt Saturn group.
Sadly both left the club now and he looks like a fool without expert shoulders he can lean on. Compare it to a striker who hides all his shortcomings with his biggest strength to score goals, but if the goals disappear, you have a completely useless player on the field.
What qualifications does Deco have?
Deco is actually really good in his main field and it's not finances. He ran a very successful player's agency and has very good connections to many agents and a big network in general because of it.
That's why it was perfect when he was working under Alemany, who was on the contrary to him a finance expert, but didn't had any connections to the football world. That's why both have complemented each other perfectly as they had different areas of expertise. But both saw themselves as "top dogs" and didn't want to share the sports director position. So Alemany left and Deco stayed.

I'm not surprised that the club continues to struggle with finances, since Laporta and Deco have their strengths, but it's not managing money. Laporta needs to find someone like Reverter/Alemany again and let Deco focus entirely on the sporting section. That's the only way to success under Laporta. Finding capable people.

We have signed Olmo for same money, so yes he was correct.
For all the things he said, people are hating him for saying the one truth he said.
You and Jamr are fucking mentally challenged
"same money" LOL
How is 80 mil same with 20 mil or whatever we pay this season for Olmo?

If you claim you have the cash for Nico you claim to have 80 mil liquid to pay the release and his 1 year contract.
That is not same with paying for Olmo in 3 or 4 years.

Here is 4 class men that were insulted, belittled, and made to feel worthless by the incompetent circus that runs our club

All of them have dreamt of playing for Barca, parked aside all other offers to play for us, were willing to accepts loans and strange wages formulas to play for us, and all of them contributed substantially on the field based on what each could give

Yet all of them were asked/forced to go to make room for some other player in a totally unacceptable way by a clown and his buddies that have plagued our institution the last few years

#LAPORTA OUT
#NO CONFIDENCE
Gundogan dreamed on lots of money and forgot to run in vital moments.
Most of them are on Xavi, who wanted his boys.

So even with Gundo's departure we still can't register Olmo. Strange. Nike deal still yet yo be signed. I don't get this club at all. Really weird stuff.
Nothing strange, barca fans are trash, they are plastics that refuse to read between the lines of officials or the papers provided or leaked.

The club lost a fortune without Camp Nou, the big wages are still there.
Eric, Lenglet returned and they have big wages, we need to pay former and present players for their past wages.
It's not the fault of Laporta our plastics meat ride every hype.

Activate the break clause Laporta.

Nike will be an ass initially with fulfillment but as the exit approaches we will have all the leverage.

Nike themselves need to rethink their strategy. The company itself has been doing really poorly in recent times and are underperforming in the market.

They probably don't care to rush to offer Barca a massive new contract and to be fair to them, who could blame them with the state that this club is in? lol

Reports like this are absolutely hilarious.

Imagine reporting that we will have worse financial issues if we don't renew a contract of 60m/year that runs until 2028 with a big ass sign on fee.

It's absolute cuckoo land, and the board themselves would have to be in bizarroland putting any projections relying on the renewal of a deal Nike have absolutely no reason to renew unless it is close expiring (1-2 years) with a competitive bidder.

You want 100m? force some sales you don't really want to make of guys who are on respectable wages of buyers.

Christensen, Araujo, Pedri, Fermin, Raphinha. Everyone but Lameen who is your franchise player basically.

They want to kick the can down the road all the way to Antartica.

No long term financial planning, just relying on late scrambles at the end of each window and pot luck, or forcing out random players and signing deferrals.

All short term stuff and severely damaging in the long term for the club's economic health. We should have simply avoided this mess entirely and not signed for a few seasons.

This is an inevitable downside of a fan owned club that elects presidents, however it is still by far the best available system.
The fact that the past 3 years are arguably our worst in this century, shows how lucky we are.

Yeah. I don't begin to doubt that the board inherited an extremely difficult situation. And that they are not 100% evil and have made good decisions, and had in their mind the best intentions of the club.

Have to wonder though, how would our financial situation look today without the signing of Olmo?

-30m in the books so far
-10m+ coming for Faye
-Gundagon wages gone
-Roberto, Dest, Alonso completely gone.
