Head and his shoulder too ... his head is enough to make it offside

thats what you said yesterday:

It's actually very very clear in this picture , offside without a doubt .. any part that a player can score with ahead of the last defender is an offside call

look @ Pedro's head and arms...

but once again, glad you checked the rule and fixed your mistake.

only his hands were on offside, so it wasn't offside coz hands don't count because you can't score by this part of the body.

it was offside but it looks so irrelevant when you see pedro's first touch :worthy:

btw why are we discussing about that in this thread i wonder :pep:

If it was offside, it had to have been inches at the most...The angle we've been shown repeatedly is ahead of both players which would give the illusion of Pedro being just ahead of Coentrao...Even from the lineman's position, there wouldn't have been an easy way to discern whether he was in line with the player on the other side of Pedro - who was closest...I still say it was even but inches are going to be pointed to as some sort of controversy?...It's nonsensical, a meter or a few feet?...Yes, of course, otherwise it's the usual Mou sideshow complete with his players waving at every attempt to beat their high line

Saying it's a big mistake and criticising the linesman is wrong. The linesman doesn't know when the ball is going to be played. So he has to look between where the ball is to see it being played and also if players are offside. The benefit of the doubt goes to the attacking team, so in a close call like this the linesman made a correct application of the rules.
