@Beast fair enough we didn't do well in the CL but the way you worded your post - 'which u won be beating small teams and failing against all the big teams ..' I figured you meant that we failed to beat the big teams in La Liga which is only true if you consider Madrid the only big team ( which isn't exactly incorrect if that's what you meant )

Madrid certainly let the league slip with bad performances away ( mainly Andalusia I believe ). However I don't agree with your feeling that we only won the league because of Madrid's inconsistency. We had 55/57 at the beginning of the season. If we end with 95-100 points then that is a well earned league title, even with Madrid firing on all cylinders it is unlikely they would have surpassed the 95-100 mark.

You are right about the loss of Puyol and Xavi hitting us hard and yes it is unlikely that Thiago will ever fill his boots. Certain players like Pique will suffer with Puyol's decline, in fact Busquets could suffer without Xavi in front of him too. I also feel that Pedro has been badly exposed with our decline.

Thankfully Rossell has begun turning us into a financial monster, as Perez did for you guys.

Well in a way recently it's only been Barca and Real , of course we will have the odd team here & there but la liga been all about Real & Barca in the last 10 years (sadly ) however we do measure ourselves more in Europe , winning la liga is great but it's now a given that either you or us will win next year but how far we go in the CL vs other European strong teams determine how far we are progressing and not against Atletico's and Valencia .. don't you agree ?
As in the liga you will have the odd result like X or Y doing a miracle and beating a strong team but you look at it overall the same way you judge a league by how good their representatives are doing in Europe (like we all said the EPL has dropped down due to all of them crashing out earlier )
As for your team it's up to Rosell & Zubi to do what's right , if they try to mop it under the rug you're in for a tough ride.. having Puyol and Xavi around will still help the new comers and the most important thing is to do the change in steps like Pep and Txiki did after he took over from Rijkaard and the same way Rosell /Laporta /Txiki and Frank did it after Laporta won the election.. u do massive changes and you are bound to drop a lot till you find your feet (that's if you made the right moves )

So we get we to the semi's of the CL, win the league by 11+ points and still don't beat any big teams. Hmmmmm? Luckily now that Jose has ruined Madrid , you will be rebuilding next year, so our 'end of cycle' will not be very pronounced. One of the reasons we were poor at the end of this season is because we haven't had any competition in La Liga for most of the year as you were blown away early. That lack of competition made us complacent and the team will be hurting over the summer making them hungry for next season. Alexis will be gone, Song will be gone, Villa will be gone and we will finally buy a real CB. The core of the team is fine, we suffered from poor squad management this season and with Tito being ill for most of the season, it has been difficult. Actually thinking about it, Mou is even more of a failure as he lost the league to a rookie manager and a caretaker manager! LOLOLOLOL!

Will that explain why you also lost to that same club earlier in the super cup , in February twice and why Pep lost it last year ;)

Alex my friend you are losing your WUM touch man... are you getting too old or what ? you still have 5 more month till your birthday man ...

I follow RM as closely as FCB. That's part of being a fan of either since it is largely a two-horse race and both clubs are mutually dependent on each other.

Yes, I am actually a lifelong RM fan. Following FCB is just a hobby of mine.

The point was obviously that it is more or less impossible not to follow the rivals business when being either a FCB or RM fan.

I didn't know closely following Madrid was a requirement of being a Barca fan, I've been doing it wrong all this time.

I don't think anyone said that is a requirement but I guess it might be difficult to follow all your rivals closely when being both a Liverpool, FCB and Inter fan.

But I do believe that the majority of fans here actually follow the day to day business at RM. Just as the RM fans do with FCB.

At least all those I know of.

How truly ironic your post is seeing I as I don't know anyone personally or online who follows as many clubs and nations that you do.

Really? I follow 1 foreign club (FCB) and other than that two clubs (AC Milan & PSG) who are both clubs from France and Italy respectively. One is even local. Apart from the same two national teams (France & Italy) that I have followed all my life.

But I did not expect you of all people to get the point of my initial post anyway.

Nor do I expect this post to reach you since I have been repeating the same message about 5-10 times without it ever reaching you either.

So don't bother to reply.

He's got Italian and French ancestry IIRC (or maybe it was German)

Edit: saw the local part now, but does it matter much? he could be studying somewhere else anyway
