Juan Guillermo Cuadrado

Della Valle (president Fiorentina): "I asked Cuadrado to stay, but I'm not optimistic. If we get a good bid, we'll have to let him go."

Cuadrado's president seems desperate to offload him. Really hope we'll spend the remaining money (that should have been spent on a top CB, but yeah) to him, that will soften the blow of not signing a top CB somewhat.

The guy is a winger, not a defender. To be a defender...you have to actually know how to defend. He gives us nothing as a winger either. Suarez Messi Neymar, Pedro and Deulefeu as depth. The worst part about it all is the price for something we dont need..

Meanwhile Aurier goes on loan to PSG....

Why do we even want this guy? Doesn't seem like RB material.
Montoya already said it himself, Lucho asks the RB (or the fullbacks in general) to play higher up the pitch than in previous years. Makes perfect sense to sign a young energetic player like Cuadrado in that regard.

He's basically Alves 2.0 but he's got dem Ronaldinho-esque mad skillz

sounds like a perfect wing back for Barcelona then

This guy has nothing on prime Alves as a fullback. Alves is primarily attacker and prone to brainfarts, but has/had outrageous workrate and energy that made him competent defender.

And while Cuadrado is more skillful and better at taking on players, Alves at RB was one of the most productive assisters in Europe for years.

More like Alves 0.5. Although Alves is still better at defending than Cuadrado even today, which says a lot.
