£26m. Why did we potentially have to fork out £50m+ if we wanted him? Has the release fee changed?

This price is in pounds. (26 M pounds is around 34-35 M Euros, I guess).
50m price for Barca was in Euros.

But yes, Chelsea have to pay less, that's true :/

La Viola always had an intention to renew his contract and he wanted a buyout clause of 35m euros, but since we had a transfer ban looming and they not in a hurry to sell him, they tried to squeeze much more from us, which eventually didn't happen.

Apparently we'll pay £22-23m with the rest in bonuses or whatever. He should be ours in the next 2 days.

He has not lived up to the hype this season so far but I am pretty sure that he will become a success if he finally moves to Chelsea. A bit like Fábregas.

-------------Courtois---------------

Ivanovic-Cahill-Terry-Azpilicueta

---------Fábregas-Matic-----------

-----Cuadrado-Oscar-Hazard-----

---------------Costa----------------

A pretty awesome lineup right there.

I watched him few times this season and I was not impressed. He's not good winger at all, constantly slowing down the game and no scoring threat.

Remember, in the summer, when cuadrado was what everyone was talking about, the debate here was whether he was worth the 50 million or not? And Chelsea sign him for what, 30M?

Other things could have changed, but this primarily shows one of two things: 1.) Our incompetence in the transfer market isn't a figment of BF's imagination, proven yet again or 2.) The player himself sees the prospect of the club; rather, his own prospect in the club in a more positive light at Chelsea than at Barcelona.

Either way, ~60m pounds or so is what mourinho has spent so far, netted for sales. Pretty impressive stuff.

He has a 35m buyout clause. We are not willing to pay.
