It is very rare that you will see fans of 2 different clubs agree that they have different opinions and accept each other. Kudos to you two :)

I never compared their game style... I just said we could have rubbed it all over their face, more so than Eto'o, if we had signed him! Especially considering he would be an integral part of Spain NT for another decade!!

I used to be a troll, and a pretty good one at that, but then I got over it. I used to argue all the time when I was younger but these days at most I'll bring forth my points and discuss them if I'm bothered(pretty lazy bastard here) but I won't try to force somebody else to believe them, especially an opposition fan, heh. It doesn't work! Plus people get heated too quick sometimes, not worth the trouble, so it's just easier to accept.

9 hours until the game, I'll actually be able to get up for it. Mata better play, if he doesn't I feel we won't beat Swansea.

Fabregas? Iniesta? Those names ring a bell?

Grossly overrated in my opinion btw.

Mata's a better playmaker than the both of them, note the emphasis on playmaker and think carefully before you're next post.

In any case, you have the nerve to call Mata overrated whilst dropping names like Iniesta?! He's an awsome player and in tandem with Xavi forms a great central midfield partnership for Barcelona and Spain, but can anyone genuinely hand on heart say he'd be anywhere near as effective or garner the same praise if he were at another club?

He's not productive enough, and i've heard plenty on here actually try and make a case for him being one of the all time greats. Vomit inducing biasedness. Great at linking play, and only second to Messi in terms of dribblng and gliding past players, but when it comes to that final third, there are a few better - i'd argue Ozil is too. Doesn't make them better players, but certainly closer to Iniesta than half here would like to admit.

Why is t that when q player is so good to the point their is no objective rational to dispute his greatness, a certain type of football fan, always justs to
1) I would like to see if he were that good at a different club
2) its the players around him
3) look at his numbers.

People use stats to compare ronaldo to messing and never the other way around, why?. Because its the only basis on which you can compare the two.

Wow, Karnivore, all I can say is that I disagree with every part of your post. Fabregas is way ahead of Mata in terms of playmaking, don't know why you think different. And all this nonsense that Iniesta isn't effective in the final third? He has been consistently deadly in the final third his entire career, dribbling past most with ease and netting several goals a season, as well as having quite high assist counts.

Iniesta is 28 years old, he has won 5 league title,3 cl,2 ec,1,wc, been voted among the best players in the wc numerous times, has been voted the European player of the year and he has not just been a member of these teams riding on the coat tales of better players he has been vital to his team winning most of those titles.

All of this 28, now let's say he plays until he is 34 and continues to win say 2 more league titles one more cl.

If he isn't regard as off one the greatest players to kick a football, then messi is just another good player.

Just some crazy stuff being said in here recently, crazy stuff.

Let me add that he is a Chelsea fan. We've seen some gold standard from "Barça fans" lately as well but just wanted to point that out :p

Mata is underrated by most, but lets not get out of hand and say he's better than Fabregas or Iniesta. Especially at playmaking. If anything Mata's a more consistent goalscorer than both of them. (Iniesta is still more clutch). Iniesta is definitely an all time great. He has unbelievable talent, mesmerizing skill, memorable performances in historic games, and the trophy cabinet to back it all up. He probably won't be recognized as one until the end of his career though.
