Now, all his ills are blamed on Mbappe. 0 goals and 0 assists for the most attacking midfielder in a UCL winning side? Mbappe's fault. Can't thread a pass? Mbappe's fault. Can't dribble a man? Mbappe. Can't retain possession? Mbappe. Missing sitters ? Mbappe.

He is speaking well on TNT Sports, and seems sensible when talking in that sense. I also respect that other people think he's an outstanding player. Like I say, I like to take in other people's opinions and look at other perspectives.
But I am still not seeing him as deserving of his enormous reputation. He's a good player no doubt, even very good. He had a few nice touches and passes tonight. But in general he seems more of a box player and if he isn't getting chances near the opposition goal he feels quite redundant.
Maybe I am being harsh on him as Anfield is a very hard place to go. But everyone is laying into Mbappe, and he's getting away with it a little.
