I used to like his post. I think his tactical views are spot on. But his take on Amigos theory is too much.

This is bad news for everyone except Bartomeu.
Messi clearly wants to leave and now is doing an about face only because nobody will pay not just 700m, But not even perhaps 100m to 150m. He is staying reluctantly, he is not happy and likely will sulk next season, his contribution will be a huge question mark. And now he is making himself look good in the media to portray himself that he has told the club he wanted to go many times throughout this season and he is only staying because he doesn’t want to take the club to court. Wow, the Messi camp finally is getting sophisticated with the PR stuff.
The club loses out big time because it is going to be the same old shit, aka business as usual for one more season, with no real changes and an undermined and handicapped Koeman in charge. The rebuild gets delayed and we are letting Messi walk for free in 2021.
So the only one happy is Bartomeu. And perhaps some die hard Messi fans.

It's surreal to hear him audibly talking about wanting to leave Barca.. Messi-Barca was like a perfect marriage, his kids and family are settled yet he was willing to uproot them to live in shitty Manchester, crazy times.
I still think its best for both parties if he leaves this summer but hopefully we can atleast win a La liga so he goes out on a high. could just be bitterness but alot of City fans are saying this was a 'now or never' deal and understandably; he'll be 34 going on 35 when his contract ends

I agree with him. I wanted him gone too. His cycle is over and we need different things.
The moment he wanted out I would have said yes on the spot. Even free, considering the bad contract (bad for Barca) that gave him all the leverage in the world to move as free agent.

@serghei is just embarrassing himself over all this saga, I'm actually quite disappointed, he was reasonable before. He's just stupidly insist on amigos theory which originated by Barto propaganda at first.

You know how Messi can be when he is not in the mood of things. Honestly I don?t expect much from him next season. Hopefully he will at least show some professionalism. He is still getting paid by us.

Eloquently put. Exactly how it is, only Messi washed himself pretty neatly with this interview. Great PR by Bartomeu and Messi. He made it seem like he's sacrificing a year of his life out of his love for Barca.
The same Barca he wanted to leave as free player, while hiding out as a captain after the Bayern humiliation.Both Bartomeu and Messi get out of this. The club loses. Loses money, loses a real rebuild. Koeman is collateral damage, let's see how he can deal with Messi potentially walking every match.
