There's a fight between Messi and Pique. Messi is incredible angry at Pique that he got no support when he wanted to leave. Messi has deleted Pique from his WhatsApp and their Relationship is non-existent now [Bild]

a german tabloid quoting the words of a madrid biased journalist on "el chiringuito"(also madrid biased) tv show.

don't know why you would post this kind of garbage. it's on the same level with that shady article about messi telling tata martino every day he'll get fired if he wants it.

and we have to bare in mind that ney, mbappe and lewa play for 2 bully teams, in farmer leagues and also have refs on their side.

we already had this discussion and forum de amigos decided that messi was not in top three anymore and the likes of KDB, muller and lewa are way over him.

BBZ drafting a 10 page "analysis" as we speak.

I think it's BBZ's dream job to write and be a football analysis, buy nobody take him seriously. I think there's no player good enough for his standard, he has a very high standards

I know stats should be taken with some NaCl popcorn grains and in case of BizouBzz, some laxative :giggle: but these paint an interesting pic

Bare in mind, last season was his worst ever since he first kicked a ball at the age of 3

There are per 90

CMdb.jpg

now I know he's washed up if you compare him to his NEO ALIEN level, and the whole world knows he totally sucks at defense but still, even at say 10% of his peak, he's still not too shabby

Interesting that the closest one to him, playing style is sambadude :neymar:

This season, proper resting will be key more than ever. If Koe can't have him sit out whole games, a good solution could be to have him start only at the 2nd half in some games. I noticed, when our teams gets scored on, he can spin into a negative drift cuz he takes it personal. BUT if he comes off the bench and we're losing, in his mind, he gets to play superhero and this could pump him up lol

just speculating here but I've got a feelin it's not too off the mark.

I wouldn't compare stats. Barcelona is like every pass to Messi y where the other clubs are more playing like a team

yeah mate. same old story - all players here work for messi. that's why he kept us afloat and in contention for titles over the last 3 years.

have you even read the stats in that list? most of them are individual related. what does FDJ or griezmann have to do with messi being able to complete a pass?

Something surely was done right between 2000-2010 that bought that generation up

We cheated.
We were buying 10s of best kids from all over the world.
We were punished for that.

And we won't have similar generations ever again.

Also, today you have more rich teams (EPL, Psg) or teams with awesome scouting (Dortmund, Red Bull) which means that it is harder to lure even domestic 13 years old kids to La Masia.

Also, football improved in quality, so it is a larger gap between Barca B and top level football.
So, it is harder for kids to develop and jump over that gap.

So, it is not only Barto's fault.
La Masia will 99% never again produce anything even close to a golden generation.

Messi was the only non-Spanish player worthy of anything for this team and while he is one of a hell of an exception, if we can still produce more of Xavi,Iniesta or even Thiago/Roberto we will be fine.
We actually started luring non-eu kids after Messi success. we barely had players from outside Spain before that
And in Spain, Barca has become a bigger power than it ever was, the difference between barca and RM is now minimal than it ever been for decades and the gap between us and other team is bigger than before.
That said, Spain as a whole is doing worse as time goes.

Also, today you have more rich teams (EPL, Psg) or teams with awesome scouting (Dortmund, Red Bull) which means that it is harder to lure even domestic 13 years old kids to La Masia.

They can't, or they will be punished. Domestic players can't move to another country before the age of 16 if it is EU country, or 18 for non-eu

Also, football improved in quality, so it is a larger gap between Barca B and top level football.
So, it is harder for kids to develop and jump over that gap.

Having this type of thinking is actually Bartou's biggest fault,
This is why it became so important to the club that Barca B will be in 2nd division most of the time.
Araujo, Puig & Fati has barely played any games in 2nd division, and they are our best players from B team in almost 7 years. Fati didn't even play with B team and he is our best youngsters since Busquets in terms of immediate impact.
B team is about learning how to play against men, not about the level. This is the preparation the player's need. Almost every other Liga club they develop players in 3rd or 4th division with good results.
BVB reserve team is in 4th division, Red Bull reserve team is in 2nd division but that of Austrian league

That said, I do agree we won't have a generation like we had before. Basically our best ever player, best ever defender, 3 of probably 5 best midfielders in our history has been produced with age difference of only 10 years in a club of 120 years of history. It isn't going to happen again. That is very true.

But La Masia can still provide a lot of good players to the team to ease things up, Bartou's and Rossell policy were bad even in that regard, we were even barely able to produce bench players for half decade? Nah, that is on the board.
We treated B team as a result oriented team, we made wrong decisions when loaning players or keeping them and we made a lot of other mistakes.

I agree with @khaled_a_d, makes several good points, particularly with how Barca B should be viewed. For me, Barca B is a test stage not a place for development. Something like "you are a very good player, let us see what you have got against professionals" type of thing. That is why we should not keep players there for anything longer than two seasons. One as a substitute and another as a starter. Sell them with a buyback option instead of letting them run out their contracts!

For example, Madrid sold 4 players for about 2m each this season alone, and plenty in the past.

No that wasn't a cheat. It was just concidence Barca had a golden generation of players that passed through their club. It's not an anomaly, just good timing. Your argument can only be for the 08-09 team since that was mostly leftovers from the previous amigos era.

No that wasn't a cheat

We were literally the first club who were banned for cheating/breaking rules with signing youngsters for years.

And we were the club with the highest number of offenses.

So, yes, we cheated for years with La Masia in terms that we were buying more players than it was allowed and signing too many best foreign kids from all over the world, which is not allowed.

In the current era, with new rules, we would probably never sign kid Messi from Argentina.

In early 2000s, Barca was buying best foreign kids from all over the world.
And Barca/Real had a monopol on almost all Spanish kids.

Today, there are are more Spanish clubs with good scouts and we can't buy foreign kids anymore.

So, a new Messi is almost impossible from La Masia.
And also, a quality of Spanish players from La Masia will be way lower than in 2000s.

Barto ruined some things, but even if Forum members would take charge of La Masia, you wouldn't be able to produce not even close
to glory days.

Back then, we almost had the first pick on any talented 13 year old kid from Spain/South America/Africa/Asia.

This!

I remember when all of the sudden everybody talked about La Masia as having a secret recipe for bringing in so many talented players. After those three came thiago, rafinha and so on. Truth is that you guys were lucky to get Messi, Iniesta and Xavi come through almost the same time. Sure, extensive scouting and picking up talents from all over the world helps, but in reality there are definitely no guarantees for players at that age to live up to their hype. La Masia isn't dead, its just back to what it was and what every big teams academy is. It's not like Man utd, Liverpool or Juventus are bringing in talents from their academy.

Xavi/Iniesta/Busquets/Pique/Valdez/Pedro/Messi

Which one is foreign? Only Messi. That generation was a fluke that happens every decade in different club, nothing more.
If we had first pick of those giant foreign talents, where are they? Looks like we suck at cheating.
