Can we talk about the managers Messi had versus CR too?
Messi was very happy with Valverde.

CR7 has scored 0 goals against Barca in 5 CL games. He even missed a penalty. Mental choker, going by your logic!
Can you explain why? And yes, they all happened when he was a Ballon d'Or level.
Could it be the strength of the other team matters, you absolute muppet.

that is correct and id never deny it. but if the argument is that CR always has had a better team than messi, i dont buy. especially because the question here is who has been the better CL player. at some point the responsibility should be theirs, not their teammates'.
let me put it this way: who would you rather have for a CL knockout when you're up against top opposition? CR or messi?
i cant see why youd choose messi for that task. youll prob write just that in your response, but other than messi worshipping barca fans i dont see why anyone would.
People assuming Messi leaving Barca will allow them a short rebuild to become a CL contender again as if Man Utd haven't been trying to do the same since SAF left.
It could go good, or go very badly and end up being a long, painful process that players like Frenkie de Jong surely won't want to be a part of.
Barca still need to make the decisions that's for the benefit of the club, but some of you are living in your own dream land where you believe all of the problems can be solved easily and quickly.
I don't think anyone thinks it's gonna be easy to build a CL challenging side post Messi. But nonetheless, it has to be done.
This is very possible and something I have started fearing with our never ending obsession with Lautaro. Barto and the board are cancer incarnate.
I think what DonAK is saying we might not even get past the likes of Sevilla without Messi and this board in charge/a puppet of this board in next election. I wouldn't fear that but this board can manage that in the absence of Messi who even today is good enough for dispatching Napolis and Lyons and Sevillas.
We need that election to happen fast.
I doubt that. Most likely we'll still be able to knock out teams from lower ranks without Messi, only to fail agains the first serious side we face. Just like with Messi in the last 4-5 years.
Not if the board signs Lautaro and the like.
I've said since 2018 that CR7 is the better player for winning CL games. You can look it up in my posts. I'd chose him.
Messi is my favorite player (next to R10) and I have him slightly ahead of CR7 overall. I used to have Messi as THE GOAT (till 2015) but I have him as a GOAT these days. All of this is backed up by my posts.
My entire problem has been with cherrypicking of stats to make Messi look worse. Only those twitter crowd do "humiliations", "1 CL in X years", and such selective tripe without nuance.
