But that's a very blunt thing to do before any exit has been finalised and the situation resolved. How'd that look if he's forced to stay (for whatever unlikely reason) in the end? Would be a real fuck you finger to the club, if it happened.
Bartomeu is not going to resign. He can't resign. We keep hearing he's going to resign to keep Messi here, but yet he's still here. If that were the case, he would have done it as soon as Messi handed in that transfer request.
Even if he does resign, what's that going to do for us? We'll still be in the shit. We have no money. We have a shit squad. We also don't have the best manager. It's going to take a lot of time for the new board to fix this mess. Why would Messi be around to see us struggle for another year, especially in the Champions League?

Bartomeu could be doing this because he knows there is no going back for Messi. If Messi stays and the president resigns it would confirm the Messi dicatator theory. Now if Messi stays, he is a bad guy and a dictator and if Messi leaves he is a bad guy leaving the club despite the president doing everything to keep him. Could be a smart move or just the weak Bartomeu being his weak self.

Barto knows Messi wants to go somewhere where he can win. Tbh I can see him scoring double in PL AND having chance to win.
This team has 0 chance of winning anything, and we unfortunately have no money to rectify the situation. Pretty clear why Messi is leaving, 2-3 years ago at least we had money and younger squad. Nowadays we are just a mess..
