Lionel Messi - v7

Would they ? Don't think there was anything official. Just so much shit getting flung from both camps and the same reporters flip flopping on the same day.

So much crap going around we don't know what to believe. I genuinely believe city have told Messi they would pay up to a certain amount which is why Messi wants a meeting. We won't find out though as bartomeu wants to keep him no matter what.

50m is his salary to begin with. Even more with taxes included probably.

Yeah it would 100 million gross on his annual salary. But I would not be willing to let him go for nothing if the legal stuff holds up.

If City are willing to offer a fair fee or equivalent in player exchange, I would sell at this stage. But as it stands it's unclear if City are willing to offer us anything given the current pandemic

Board have plugged their ears and hope the problem will go away if they ignore it long enough.

Messi has packed bags and is pouting at home.

Brilliant stuff all around.

Why not? Holding on to a disgruntled player is the worst plan. It's not like we challenge for CL with Messi, for him to make any difference. I'd let him go even for 50m with some players like Garcia and Angelino.

Messi could face a 25% salary cut if he doesn't show up for tomorrow's training session. [cadena ser]

Messi after they cut the salary

I think it makes us look weak. We'll be a laughing stock. We lose 8-2 to Bayern and then our best player leaves us for free. Messi can leave for free next summer.

Plus, in the winter he can sign with City as a free player starting with June 2021, because he's in the last 6 months of his contract right? So, technically, Bartomeu will still be the President who lost Messi if that's what he cares about.

Fucking moron.

It's a very bad look for a club that's trying to rebuild and acquire more players in the market. If we get dicked so easily by City, what makes you think other clubs won't try to do the same?

Yeah. But I guess we are banking on Messi not wanting to go a year without playing in his advanced years and wait for Man City to make a formal bid.

I don't think he is a moron. He know his action will force Messi and his lawyer to act like this, worse and worse.

Now, the public opinion will start to change. You can see it right here on this forum.

He is a moron football-wise but definitely not about PR and politics.

He seem to be winning in this game.
