The most relevant metric is always decisiveness, impact on games.

He didnt have as much impact as the 2011 Messi. Look at Milan away for away, he was invisible. The 2011 would have beaten the old crap milan team on his own. In terms of finishing i agree, 12/13 and probably 17-18 were his best seasons.

Messi and Valverde did all they could given the poor quality in that squad. Roma second Leg was a rare disasterclass from both of them though but Anfield wasn't on them.

CR was the main attacking player, the star of 5 different CL sides, in 2 clubs

Just Copa in a season is nothing special.

But CL + LL + Copa in same season is complete dominance. Shows a player didn't need to rest and cherrypick games. And was undisputedly the best.

But as usual, you only see merit in things that favor CR7.
