thats fine, because when you account for all shit seasons and great seasons, CR still comes out on top as max CL goal scorer, max CL KO goal scorer, 5 times champion as leading attacker, etc etc etc

i really dont see how it is disputable that CR has had a better CL career than messi.

for example i wouldnt claim CR was a better LL / league player than messi: he wasnt. the facts say otherwise; the same is true for the CL but to CR's advantage

especially considering that if PSG does win it, it will probablyyyyyy be under Mbappe's leading role rather than messi's. mbappe is using messi as a wall right now for passes he can latch on to before attempting shots. its not messi ruining defences anymore. he's second fiddle to mbappe at psg

thats a separate conversation concerning a different period in messi's career while he was at another club. we are talking about the messi-mbappe dynamic at psg, where, as far as ive seen, and ive seen almost all their games, mbappe is the leading man.

if you dont trust my assessment, look at previous pages of this thread, where after almost every PSG match others agree that messi is second fiddle to KM

But at the end of the day, this game is about goals and assists, because that's what wins games. And last I checked, Messi leads the team in the CL.

Because if we start looking at things outside of G+A and subjective criteria like aesthetics and coaching/teammates, I can start making cases for Messi over CR7 in CL already, as you can for your favorite player(s).
