All this pic tells me is that he was another level compared to even prime CR7 or Lewa in his prime.

95 G + A 2011
113 G + A 2012
90 G + A 2016

And then 4 more 70-80 G + A seasons, which Lewa has only managed 1 times in his life and that too, in Bundesliga

Insanity.

2012 was insane

Do NOT try to bring him back.

The pressing game and overall off ball structure would suffer massively. And Messi has declined as an individual. PSG or not. You will all see this for Argentina in the upcoming WC. Argentina and namely Messi will disappoint in a huge way.

You pay for what a player will do, not what a player has done. Should never been blinded by nostalgia - not even with Messi.

At international level, the pressing game is not as highly structured as that of City & Liverpool (can only think of Germany and Spain who would attempt to do this given the coach and the players) and most national teams are conservative, so I'm not sure what makes you so confident for you to say this.

What greed does to a player. He could've accepted a lesser salary and a lesser role and almost any team on the continent would have chased after him, many teams with better structure to support him. Instead he went for money and partly for the "friendship" with Neymar, Di Maria etc.

Now he is sad because that shitty ass club failed once again in spectacular fashion and the fans are booing him. You reap what you sow mate.

Accept a lesser salary and lesser role for what? The guy was a Ballon D'or contender and eventual winner.

Did Ronaldo went at Man Utd(his home club if we are to believe him) at 36 years of age, on decreased wages and lesser role? No, he went for the biggest salary in the EPL. After Man Utd also paid a transfer fee for him. And not in a 'lesser role'.

The amount of hate/animosity towards Messi is blinding your judgement to the level of posting some stupid shit mate.

Of course he is sad as he is a professional and wants to succeed.

Only thing you could argue is that he could have gone elsewhere. Maybe a team like Chelsea, Inter or something like that if they were interested as City seemingly weren't this summer and were all-in on Harry Kane instead.

But would a club like Inter give him a better chance to win the CL? They wouldn't.

Besides if you're all about morals, ethics and all that not sure how you can root for City and hate PSG. Cut from the same cloth, except PSG been a pain for us by going for the same targets and signing Neymar lol.

He doesnt merit a huge salary for what he would bring to team now and shouldnt take a lesser one in his last years.

Him coming back makes no sense bar nostalgia.

Stay in Paris and hope they improve then head for Miami.

Messi never had any connection to likes of Inter or Chelsea. Why would he go there? Just because someone on the Internet says so? It's the same stupid rhetoric that started that "But can he do it on a cold rainy night in Stoke"? meme.

City was a rumored option mainly because Pep was there, they have a similar style of play to ours and because they've inquired about him in the past. But they never submitted an offer.

Atletico was interested, would Barca fans have been ok with that? https://www.espn.com/soccer/atletic...ed-suarez-if-messi-would-join-atletico-madrid

he would be just as bad in italy lol

hilarious how any excuses and any ridiculous speculations are made to salvage something--anything--from the flaming wreckage that is messi's season

i would love for him to go to inter so he can fail there too in fact, btw. would be glorious after CR scored 101 goals there in 3 years

flops in meme league france but much stronger Seria A suits him?

this is literally another version of the 'hes saving himself' argument. try again. he's finished and the whole world bar those in the dense messi bubble sees it

Messi BOTH scored and assisted more than CR7 from the beginning of their career up until the age of 34-35

So, he's a more productive player over 17-18 years but we're judging solely on 34-37 now? Longevity is an important factor but not THE factor.
