Lucas Lima

If the deal happens Lucas will come to Barcelona with a lot of people watching him. Because if he fails to make any remotely good impact the knives will be out and not just for him but Barto and the Board as well. Neymar and his dad if the rumors are true that they were the ones that pushed for Lucas as well.

DonAK

President of FC Barcelona
Francesc Aguilar of Mundo Deportivo called this a never ending plague.

If we win, everything will be fine.

But if we don't win.....heads will roll.

This is also putting themselves under more pressure because now people will demand a big name like Verratti or Coutinho to be signed even more.

And by that I'm talking about the local fans in Catalunya. They're already mad at this there judging from how different journalists and people have reacted in their shows, but that's because they think he'll be the only midfield signing.

Think the whole idea of them signing a player just for Neymar is going a bit far.

Hear all the time about Ney and Suarez wanting Coutinho or Messi wanting Aguero, Di Maria even Vietto last year and it never really happens.

Would be that any transfer at the very least is approved by Valverde and the sporting side.

A year ago Robert went to Brazil, to watch Gabriel Jesus and Lucas Lima during the Summer transfer window. Fernando Polo says Robert's opinion boiled down to he thinks Lucas is a solid player but he would rather trust guys like Rafinha more.

Reading the rumors it sounds like Robert had no input on this whole deal or Valverde either. it seems to be one of those Barto deals.

What is a Barto deal?

If Valverde has not given his say so he shouldnt be signed. Dont think anyone has a clue really what is going on.

After all the waiting, all the various transfer sagas, and all the desperate cries for a top class signing, our first signing of 2017/18 is a mediocre midfielder from Brazil with 0 experience in Europe who has strong ties to Neymar and his dad. Even dated his sister, for that matter.

Will cost us 20-24m to keep him here for his entire contract that he'll probably see through, too. I hope nobody was hoping we'd be getting better this season.

What are chances of two different factions of groups wanting and not wanting him within the Club?

Everything I read so far about this doesn't really say anything about Robert or Valverde's approving it. Usually when we do business in Brazil it's mostly comes down to Andre Cury who does a lot of the work behind the scenes.

Have you read anything saying only Barto has decided to sign him?

Andre Cury is not deciding who gets signed.

Let's wait and see some more. Maybe we're preparing a deal to sell Arda and this guy will replace him. Maybe we're planning to sell Rafinha too.

I would agree that it is an underwhelming first signing if true. But he might be OK for a backup. And I'm pretty sure the net salary is around 2m.
