Totally agree that Lucho is right. Taking it easy is good advice. We didn't have to win to be in the final. Injuries could be our worst enemy.

And what's wrong with that? We're in the final. Taking it easy is exactly what we needed to do.

The problem is in using the same techniques that already didn't work several times before, definitely a mistake, control the game ? defend ? we were doing neither of those 2, scrappy as fuck, and it ALWAYS looks like this with the double pivot, and he'll do it again ..

How can people criticize Lucho? There's nothing with playing double pivot if you're trying to shut the game down, and that's what we needed to do. No need to play intensely and risk injuries when the opponent needs to score 5 goals in one half to knock you out... It's also not Lucho's fault that Busquets, Alba, and Mascherano played poorly.

There's a lot wrong with it if you've tried it and it doesn't work with the team you've got. We don't know how to play defensively or with a double pivot. Our best way of defending a lead is keeping possession and avoiding risky passes. This is simply Lucho, he'll do it because he wants to, even if it doesn't work, and afterwards he'll say that he doesn't have the intention of explaining himself to anybody.

He would have moved Messi to the centre anyways so taking Suárez off wouldn't be that drastic even if he was fit.
Hard to judge that 2nd half given the aggregate but it surely wasn't anything good.
Mats was right being pissed at cowardly attitude.

Still, our overall defensive record this season has been great. This was one of the rare games where we were off.

A one off game doesn't undo the great work he's done.
We were shambolic, but I can't really blame Lucho for the disastrous performances of our midfield and defence. They are all experienced players and have been through hell here last time they went to the allianz. They should know better.

This game reminded me of Bayern's game against Arsenal a few years back. It was a wake-up call for them that they are not unstoppable. It might be a positive thing that we received ours today.

No flavia.
The players don't do stuff like that on their own, lucho told them to take it easy.

Players do that. They have done it before LE was the coach too.
I can't blame LE for bayern's 2nd half goals, they did what they wanted in our defence on those goals. That was lack of focus, complacency.

Indeed. Lucho should not really be blamed for that second half performance. If anything the only thing that I can blame him for is him not subbing Xavi on earlier. For instance subbing Suárez off (a forced substitution) for Xavi instead of Pedro.

That would have increased our control of the game. Our midfield was almost invisible in the second half.

What formation would they play with Xavi coming on for Suarez?

Next to nothing when Xavi came into the game late on anyway so dont think it would have made a great deal of difference when players basically stop playing like that.

The same formation that Lucho used initially. A 4-3-3 with Don Andrés up front on the left and Xavi replacing him in the midfield. It would have strengthened our midfield and thus likely our control of the game which was more or less absent in the second half.

Anyway it was obvious that the team took their feet off the speeder in the second half knowing that Bayern had to score 5 goals more to qualify provided that we would not score additional goals.

True.

For some reason(s) we were crap in that 2nd half.

We're 3 games away from 3 titles, he doesn't need to explain himself to anybody.

Bayern had more possession than us in the Camp Nou as well, yet they only got a singular chance in 94 mns. What we lacked tonight was intensity and running, not possession.

The game was over after 29 minutes. It was over and everything after that was just a formality. Who would in his right mind run like crazy and score needless goals at the risk of injuring himself when next 3 prizes are almost a game away? Bayern was planning to score 4 while maintaining clean sheets yet they conceded 2 in first half hour. That just tells one thing: Bayern is not match to Barca. We could continue and trash them, but we chose not to. People talk here like there was a serious concern that Bayern could steal the game away from us or we are not sure if Barca is strong enough: just remember- 2 away goals in first half hour to desperate, hopeless, arrogant fucking Bayern.

I'm happy that Lucho is looking towards the future so that we will mot get injured. He didn't try to go all out just to make the fans happy. We won before it even began
