I wouldn't say it's overrated if you're consistent with the subs. The minutes will total up to being significant by business end of the season.

That if you're consistent with it. Might be difficult doing that with MSN, but gotta do whatever's possible. Can't risk them running out of gas like last season.

There are games that are decided at the 60 minute mark.

You have to do rotation in a way that allows you to still collect the points in the games you're rotating in. That's key. Rotating a lot and keeping players fresh, but losing valuable points in the process ain't the solution. You keep players fresh in the league to win it. And you won't win it if you waste too many points against the smaller teams while trying to rest players, especially at home. Rotating AND losing points is a vicious circle. It doens't matter if you're fresh in april may if you're 5-7 points off first place or so. The whole point of resting players is to have them sharp when you attack the treble.

La Liga is key for me. We have the best team and the best players and we need to win it again. So, for me, Lucho needs to go back to being more conservative with his approach. This hipster version of Lucho doesn't look good to me. Just because you have a squad that allows you to make some changes doesn't mean you don't still need to think things through. What happened against Alaves can't happen again this season.

Season barely kicked-off. It's wrong to think about heavy rotations and resting a lot of players this early. At this point you rotate to give some other good players chances, not to rest our starters. Too early for "resting" I think.

A very simple approach, that doesn't make our team look weak while rotating.

That 3-Back system tho...

I've been tellin' you guys, it's the next evolution, especially with Dani gone...

Btw, Gomes is marginally better than Denis. Really not fair to judge either of them yet, both will be excellent for us.

Wise rotation. WIth that i agree. Against Alavés it was not wise at all. Cost us 3 important points because of the Atleti game.

These should be the rules for Lucho going forward.

- ter Stegen plays La Liga and Champions League, while Cillessen plays Copa del Rey

- Alba and Roberto must never be rotated at the same time. One must play.

- Piqué and Umtiti must never be rotated at the same time. One must play.
-- When rotating, Mascherano is always the first choice.

- Busquets can only be rotated when Iniesta and Rakitic plays.
-- When rotating, Gomes is always the first choice.

- Iniesta and Rakitic must never be rotated at the same time. One must play.
-- When rotating, Gomes is always the first choice.

- Messi, Neymar and Suárez must never be rotated at the same time. Two must play, but one can be subbed if we lead by 3 in the 60th minute.
-- When rotating, Arda is always the first choice.

wtf is this, there are so many real life factors that mean things arent as black and white as you've stated above.

What I would like to understand is Lucho's reasoning behind resting Busi against a team that presses high.

This could have cost us, but I think it shows Lucho trusts the defense to deal without Busquets when needed. Which is important, since Busi is one player we cannot overplay--he has no adequate substitute.
