This is bollocks. I think you're just throwing that out there because you assume none of us will have seen your U21's.

What exactly is bollocks?

Our u21's are a good team at that level, but that doesn't mean they all are. Janko for example, he isn't ever going to make it as a top player. He looked good for a while due to his physical attributes, but he doesn't even look good enough these days at u21 level IMO. Wilson is going to be an absolute beast and deserves to be in our senior team in some capacity this season, but he only came on as a sub. Micheal Keane doesn't look good enough for me, he was really bad the other night and although he might have a decent career, he won't ever be good enough for the first team at United. Same with Vermijl.

Our better youngsters who have really shone at u21 level didn't really feature against MK dons. Lawrence, Pearson, Blackett, Varela and of course Wilson all have a chance of making it at United. Powell and James are promising but it didn't help that they had the likes of Anderson, Hernandez playing meaning it was like 9vs 11.

Please though, do explain what was 'bollocks' about what I said.

4-3-3 is the way to go, apparently Hernandez is going for £12-15m and Cleverly for £8m.

DDG
Rafael-Smalling-Evans-Shaw
Herrera-Carrick
Rooney
Januzaj-RVP-Di Maria

Rojo and Jones as well for CB or LB/RB, Fellaini and Fletcher for CM, Mata/Kagawa as cover for Rooney, Rooney/Welbeck/Wilson cover for RVP, Young/Valencia cover fort Di Maria/Adnan.

I agree about the 4-3-3, but Mata is a better number 10 than Rooney. It would be criminal having a technical ability like his on the bench.

DDG
Rafael - Smalling - Evans - Shaw
Herrera - Carrick - Di Maria
Mata
RVP - Rooney

No idea whether this could work or not, but I guess this is the only way you guys can accomondate both Van Persie and Rooney in the lineup.

Still something different. All of them have looked more than good enough for your U21s.
I'm still waiting for your point...Do you expect every U21 team to be equal to/better than a league 1...I just think the lower leagues in England are a lot better than other countries and most U21 teams will struggle to beat a League 1 team....

I could live with that team. Whilst not ideal, because I'd like to get Welbeck and Januzaj in there somehow, but with for what we have I think we could do a lot worse than lineup like that.

For me though it would be-

Rafael - Smalling - Rojo - Shaw
-Herrera - Carrick -
Welbeck - Mata - Di Maria
RVP/ Rooney

... most U21 teams will struggle to beat a League 1 team....

Agreed.

I think it'll be best to play 4-2-3-1 with Mata behind RVP and Rooney on the left....We can rotate Rooney/RVP with Janujaz with Rooney switching to striker when RVP is subbed of for Janujaz....This might be the best way to keep Rooney and RVP happy....and considering their combined injury record Janujaz will get plenty of minutes

In Europe Mata/Kagawa maybe the better no10 but in the PL Rooney has always worked for us, Fergie utilised him in the best manner, Mata work rate is poor and Rooney basically plays as a SS and CAM with his work rate compared to Mata.

Wingers are the way to go with United, it alway works in the PL, we should try and get rid of one of Young/Valencia and sign Caudrado, he's on like 8.5k a week we could give him 60k and he'd still be earning low money compared to Young/Valencia plus his price may have dropped now that Fiorentina realised no one is stupid to may as much as they want and that Barca are out of the race. With Di Maria/Caudrado out wide we'd have some quality wing play again which would make up for our lack of creativity in the middle just like with Fergie.

I disagree about the Rooney/Mata debate, but I agree about Cuadrado. The skill we'd have on the wings with him and Di maria would be such a huge step-up from Young/Valencia I'm not sure my heart could take the excitement.

Fair enough, I'm sure with injures we have we will be able to keep all3 happy. I know lets hope we still have some cash left.

If they carry on this way we'll be lucky to have any of them available. LVG has just said we have ten players injured. That must be unheard of so early into the season.

I know he's been really unlucky with injuries, lets hope Rojo and ADM get their work permit sorted out before burnley.

So it looks like LvG is shifting out all the deadwood and fast. Zaha has gone out on loan this afternoon and we have just accepted a £9 million bid from Aston Villa for Cleverley. Rumours of Kagawa close to returning back to Dortmund which will be a good move for both parties and Hernandez seems to be close to a juve/valencia move. Welbz is on his way out possibly and Fellaini was being moved on to Napoli before his injury. Hopefully we bring in 2 more Central Midfielders and maybe a strong Cb then the squad will be looking very strong.

You said that some of those kids don't look good enough when playing for your U21s, which is bollocks. I watched Janko against Norwich and he was as good as anyone. Michael Keane has already done well on loan in the Championship, so he should be more than capable of dealing with League One opposition. This might not exactly have been United's second best side they could have put out, but there was more than enough talent and pedigree on the pitch to take MK Dons apart.

Well it's all about opinions.

The point stands though, most of the players who have been ripping it up in the u21's didn't play against MK Dons.
