Good thing and it's looking this time they'll try to sign other players.

Not really, it's only MD advising the board.

It is said in a way that MD is kind of advising the board to try to sign other players.

Same as yesterday article where they say to do a new shortlist.

But so far, the sentence you quoted doesn't imply that. From the infos MD got, Bartomeu and Zubi say that "Marquinhos' move is frozen at the moment, but don't worry there's still 2 months left, we'll try again to sign him later this summer".

The board has no other know target (now maybe there's secret targets i don't know) and doesn't seem to want to part with the idea of signing Marquinhos.

If anyone here wants to see PSG Light Version (since we miss all the players from the WC + Zlatan) playing - that includes Marquinhos - there's a friendly today against Hartberg.

From Mundo Deportivo

  • - There are CBs around other than Marquinhos and Mathieu...
  • - Marquinhos and Mathieu are still Barcelona's priority as asked by Luis Enrique tho.
  • - That said the club will explore new leads.
  • - They are named Hummels (Dortmund/40M euros [Yeah MD is making up transfer fees, and don't give a f... about Klopp ]), Schär (Bâle), Vertonghen (Tottenham/20M euros) and Fazio (Sevilla/10M euros)

  • - Marquinhos is in their shopping-list of course.
  • - Barcelona has 120M euros to work with without counting the players they will sell.
  • - As of today, they signed: Ivan Rakitic (18M euros), Marc-Andre Ter Stegen (12M euros) and Claudio Bravo (12M euros). There was one departure, Cesc Fabregas (Chelsea/33M euros). Another should happen soon, Alexis Sanchez to Arsenal for 38M euros.
  • - Once Sanchez will be sold, Barcelona will announce the arrival of Luis Suarez for 79.5M euros, swears SPORT.
  • - Then Barcelona will announce Marquinhos for 40M euros, Mathieu for 15M euros, and Cuadrado for 35M euros, but in the case of the later, only if they manage to sell Dani Alves for 12M euros before that.
  • - And the mercato will be done.
  • - In case you're wondering, yeah they are talking as if all those transfers are done deals already.

I know you've been waiting for it. Today news about marquinhos is from SPORT this time.

  • - SPORT is starting to have doubts about Marquinhos joining Barcelona.
  • - Albert Masnou, Editorial Writer for SPORT, notes that Marquinhos played the entire game against Hartberg last thuesday.
  • - He thinks it clearly shows that PSG is not preparing his transfer at all.
  • - He adds that from the infos he got, Marquinhos will not try to force his way out.
  • - He shares that Laurent Blanc plans to start the season with Marquinhos as starter since TS and DL will not come back anytime soon.
  • - Finally he adds that Nasser Al-Khelaifi is betting on new talents like Marquinhos.
  • - Masnou thinks that the epilogue could be the same as what happened last summer with TS.
  • - "To fight till the end for nothing, that's what Barca will get from PSG" warns the journalist.
  • - Even if Mathieu signs it's just to patch a little hole in the defense.
  • - There's still the need to find a grand CB, and Barcelona has no plan B beside Marquinhos.

According to AS:

  • - Since PSG doesn't want to sell Marquinhos Barcelona went to negociate directly with Marquinhos.
  • - They found an agreement and are planning to force PSG to sell.

While it is possible it happened by phone, it doesn't say that and if it's not by phone it seems fishy.

Marquinhos is in stage with PSG in Austria. All PSG players that are attending it sleep in the same hotel with all the players and the staff, and players have no right to go wandering alone.

So either it happened by phone, or AS completely forgot that PSG is in stage and made up everything.

We'll see.

  • - PSG organized a Tennis Soccer championship with teams composed of 3 players
  • - The south american team lead by its captain Marquinhos (FYI other members: Lucas, Pastore) was sure to win.
  • - But they finished in third place only behind the Douchez team who finished in second place.
  • - It's the PSG staff team that won it (Blanc, Gasset, Dehon)
  • - While replying to fans, Blanc replied to a question about Marquinhos: Not for sale at any price.
