Martin Montoya

Of course not, whether it was Montoya or anyone else. I'm just saying, since we don't have any authentic info on this, I'm inclined to believe that this is about the same type of stubborn mindset that also resulted in not playing Bartra, playing Iniesta on the left wing, playing Alexis and Pedro when they're off form, buying/playing DMs as CBs, not rotating, etc.

I'm really excited for when he becomes a regular at right back. We're all saying how better he is at defending than Dani and how he would bring back the defensive/offensive balance to our full back positions as well. While this is true, he really does look good going forward as well and seems to know when to attack and when to stay back. If he turns out as good as I think he will be, he will be the most balanced full back we have had for a long time.

Yeah, he's great going forward as well, from what I've seen. Remember when he hit the crossbar in the first league clasico? From a long way out, too. He also got himself in a one on one with Casillas in the 2nd leg of the super cup.

It would have been interesting to see him against PSG, but it looks like Alba's back, so it looks like that won't happen.

Still, if there's one youngster I'd have faith in for a big game, it's Montoya. He did great in both of his clasicos.

Why dont we see how he goes at CB?? Good temperament, physically robust and knows how to defend. Puyol started as a right back too.

A good suggestion although I'm not keen on suddenly switching him now, he has the composure and stature of a CB, but I'll keep on saying it Pique needs to develop as a leader and show more responsibilty as the senior man at the back.

If Pique develops as a leader it will be in 4-5 years. He is a laid back, happy go lucky guy who is banging Shakira. He needs competition and a kick up the ass. He is still immature.

He was dispossessed too many times today but was solid overall I'd say. I too have wondered how he would fair at CB because he has the composure to be a great one.

Maybe slightly "worse" comparing to the Celta game, but was still good overall, as always. He had one or two mistakes that could have ended badly, but luckily it turned out okay. He's too good for his minutes.
