And Goetze ended up being the one who scored the winning goal for germany. A hero. Something that will make Bayern shines for years because he plays there.

If you only want to look only at the bad things (Kroos left) fine, but I dare betting that if Bayern had to do it again, they would do exactly the same.

They bet, they won. Kroos left, that doesn't mean bayern is weaker now.

No I am not questioning the signing of Goetze and his quality (he is supposed to be the "German footballer of the century") at all, I was just showing that as an example of how salaries could potentially do to your players and morale etc. Kroos left partially because Bayern refused to up his salary to a level that is comparable to Goetze's.

If Kroos wanted to leave after that, fine. But Bayern made the right choice instead of passing on Goetze to not displease Kroos.

That always made me laugh because we're still only 15 years into the century. :D

Thanks for replying. And that's not how I meant it; I should have been more clear. Halilovic was wanted across Europe last season, and we got our man. And this season it was Odegaard and we missed out on him to Real (at least partially because we're transfer banned). You win some, and you lose some. You can't get all the talents.

Ok.

But your reply is also a problem and why this all bothers me.

Let's assume that you have a certain amount of money to invest in youth players.
Let's say that you will buy a one gem this Season, and then you won't have the money for a gem in the next 1-2 Seasons.

Now, if we spent 10 or 20 Millions in total (transfer fee, wages etc) on Halilovic, then he is a part of a reason why we didn't want to splash money on Odegaard's wages. (The same as when we bought Suarez, and now we don't have enough money/need to buy Hazard, Reus or someone else, if you get my point.)

So, Barca or any other team, don't have the unlimited amount of money so that they could buy every single hot prospect in the world, and so that they could sit down and wait how will they develop.

My point is that you have 2-3 hot prospects in Europe each Season, and you will usually splash all your money and hopes on 1 player in 2 Seasons.
So, we splashed our money and hopes on Halil, and Odegaard was out of reach for us, let's say.
So, in one hand, we could say that we didn't sign Odegaard because we already had Halilovic (the same as with Suarez and Reus or Hazard or xx player).

Also, I have a fear that our board also think that we have a nice future in Deulo, Halil and Adama, and I am afraid that they have stopped in searching for new gems. Because again, we have either splashed our money, or we have "enough" of gems.

Again, my opinion is that none of Deulo, Halil, Adama will make it in Barca, and this is why I am sad if they have failed to sign Odegaard because of them.
Plus, I hope it won't repeat with some new gems in the future.

(Again, the same as fiasco: We won't sign Koke or Kroos in order to give chances to Sergi Roberto)

I see. But you also have to consider the possibility that Odegaard was unwilling to wait until our ban ended to sign with us (w/ the transfer ban, signing Odegaard with such competition was always unlikely).

In addition, at the time we'd wrapped up Halilovic's signing, I don't think Odegaard had really exploded onto the scene yet.

And I might add that our 1998 generation (same age as Odegaard) is really talented, with the likes of Seung Woo Lee, Carles Alena, Carles Perez, Ayoub Abou, etc. playing for our Juvenil A and B sides. So you can't say that the board is banking on Deulo, Halil, and Adama because the youth sides, bar 1 or 2 sparse generations (the current Barca B), is teeming with talent.

How do you know he only has Messi as idol?

:shakeshead:

Whatever is good to criticize the kid here.

Exactly.

On his twitter account, anyone can see that he had a post about:
1. Steven Gerard on 2nd January: Legend (and hands clapping)
2. 5th October: Cristiano Ronaldo. Sick.

Messi is every young footballer's idol.
But every kid has 2-3 more idols.
Also, every kid usually loves 2-3-4 big clubs.

Yes, they offered him a lot of money and that was a major factor, but it is not like he had to go to his arch enemies with a gun pointed into his head.

He is 16, not 12. He should be Able to think and make His own decisions. I am not impressed so far. But football players are not exactly famous for their intellectual brilliance and independence.

Where did I say that Messi is his only idol? And I´m not critizing him, fuck he´s making more money at 16 than I will probably ever make in my life... If he´s stupid, wtf am I??

Kroos wasn't THAT great for us anyway. Fairly lazy, slowed the gameplay down too much, his set-pieces were often shitty when they were said to be one of the best around. At Madrid however, he has been pretty great in his new role. Maybe Ancelotti is simply better than Pep and Heynckes when it comes to creating the Pirlo-archetype footballer.

He has actually been quite dire lately after a fantastic start, although maybe that's due to fatigue.
