You know very well his trophy list doesn't say the full story otherways you could just say he is the best ever and leave it at that.
I didn't put them ahead of him, I asked him a question - where does he fit alongside all these top defenders?
When someone says best ever what do they mean? top 3?5?10?...
Definitely not top 5, very hard to slot him in top 10, top 15 is doable. - I posted almost 20 names.

I think he is a great defender and would love it if he came to Barca, he is perfect for us. If he can develop understanding with pique then pace which is the only problem is taken away.

He was good. He had a couple of monster tackles, one of which definitely saved a goal. He also won every ball in the air.

He was good overall... He can pass the ball very well, but his distribution sometimes feels rushed so he alternates great passes with poor ones... As said before, his aerial ability is very good and despite his slow pace, he managed to correct some mistakes by their defense...

I'm still not 100% sold in a Hummels - Piqué partnership, but he is a great player...

Poor guy was crushed when he missed that volley near the end, he knew that was their last chance and the game was over...
