Mats Hummels

Klopp might be able to get a couple very good young players for whatever they get. With all these rumors, I'd be terribly disappointed if we didn't get one of Reus or Hummels.

I'm with DennyCrane and Nostradamus on this one.

Hummels on his career at BVB: "There are enough reasons to stay long-term at one club. After all it's always about the question: What aspect is the most important for me as a player? Of course there are players who want to have a certain amount on their bank account at the end of their career, which is nothing bad. Then some want to win a certain number of titles. But there are others who, like me, look to play suitable football in a team that you love from a football and from a human perspective."

Of course what a player says rarely means anything, but if you look at his career and the fact he signed a long-term contract, I do believe him - for now

The only thing that got me a little hopeful was BVB signing Ginter, but then he's a versatile player that can play as a CB and a DM, so he could just as well replace Kehl.

 Yes sure, Dortmund would sell their arguably most important player who has contract until 2017. Dream on.

Yeah sure. Hummels is gonna stay at Dortmund till his hairs are as white as his teeth and has won 10 back to back second place in Bundesliga. Barca comes knocking on his door and he says no I wanna win more second places with Dortumnd. What a far-fetched dream indeed!

Hummels told Bild that he doesn't need many titles. He wants to be part of something special. Therefore he feels good at Dortmund.

Moreover, he said that he prefers winning one title as an important player than 4 titles as a second choice.

Don't know if a transfer is impossible now but I don't think he'll come, at least not this summer.

Not everyone has to (or be compelled to) cede to the whims and demands of the perceived elite. Loyalty is rare, but still resides in the hearts of some. It's what makes them prized possession of one, and envy of another. I say more power to BVB for having faithful characters in their ranks. Its something to be celebrated, not ridiculed or questioned.

I'd like Hummels here, but I'll be equally happy to see him stay at BVB.

Some of the Juve players who stayed despite getting relegated, like Buffon.

Dortmund isn't that bad. Top 5 club in the world for sure. Unlucky with injuries this season.

It's also not only down to Hummels (although he already stated that he'll happily stay). With a contract until 2017 Dortmund don't need to let him go. If they pass on a fee for Lewandowski with 1 year left on his contract I can only imagine what they'd ask for Hummels who a) won't hand in a transfer request and b) has contract until 2017. Some people here said we'd get him for € 25M.

While Hummels loves Dortmund, I'd imagine he also would love to play alongside the GOAT and in a stadium of 98,000 people as well as participating in El Clasico and consistent CL football(Dortmund offer this too but it wasn't always the case). I really, REALLY like Dortmund but selling one of Hummels or Reus for around 40M could get them another very good playersand maybe 2 more good players to add depth to the squad and improve overall if they make the proper signings. Plus, the only time Hummels or Reus would face them would be in a potential CL clash so it's not like they'd be strengthening a direct rival like if one of them went to Bayern.

Please do not bring in the stadium argument. The one in Dortmund isn't that much smaller, but more importantly it is full every single match.

We don't get that except once or twice a season. Plus I'd take the atmosphere of the Westfalstadion over the lackluster atmosphere of the Nou Camp anyday at least they get back behind their team unlike our supporters who know only how to boo their own players

Zubi: "Yo Mats, we got the GOAT and a stadium that is never full except twice a season. You wanna come?"
Hummels: "Ohhh fo shizzle, why didn't you say this before?"
