Setien liked him more than Koeman agreed. Also didnt have likes of Pedri or Coutinho to play either.

Setien started him in 5 league games. They won two of them and then didnt start him in CL.

You gave examples of how he only played in some games under Setien, not all. That's exactly his level. A rotational player who gets chances. Proved it on the field too that this is his current role in the team.

The issue is Koeman is playing him as if he's some scrub who barely can kick a ball. Even though he came on vs Juve in a game we sucked in and was probably the best player after Messi. Even fucking Gumbau got more chances from Lucho in a stacked team. It's obvious Koeman personally dislikes Puig.

Fine, the problem is not that Koeman doesn't select him to start for CL games. The problem is he doesn't even play him in easy games which are already won.

He rated him highly enough to play him against Atletico Madrid at home, which is one of the 4 hardest games in the league. And the kid did pretty well.

Which means winning does NOT matter to him more. He plays losers, who stink up te pitch matc after match and we loose, while freeze player, who has been good to great in most appearances for the first team. His reasons are beyond sporting logic.

Nothing wrong to play more experienced players for key CL games. As long as you don't completely freeze out talented La Masia players who do well on the field when counted on.
